Personally I agree that telling them you're armed is the correct way to deal with it.
I would first make sure I don't get surrounded. Once I'm covered from all angles that is an obvious aggressive maneuver. In all of these scenarios, if it starts to unfold beyond my control, that's when I will put my hand on my firearm without drawing, which is a posturing gesture. When they see I mean business hopefully they'll walk away. If not, I feel justified if I have displayed my force and verbalized that I don't wish to fight. If I can diffuse the situation without drawing or firing a shot, that is ideal.

i am all about that if need be trust me. the thought of fighting with a loaded gun in my pants is what bothers me, not so much being able to take someone. i have been in a few fights. win some, lose some. never felt like my life was threatened. dust off and move on. i guess some possible scenerios that could occur would be something like the gun accidentally discharging, the gun falling out on the floor and having the assailant pick it up and use it on you. (i would hate to think that the gun i customized and spent countless hours cleaning and training with took my own life haha). i mean it would be feasible to assume that he would be justified in killing me with it or whatever he was carrying if he saw it flop out to the floor for fear of his own life, regardless who started what.

no one has any business carrying if they cannot avoid a fist fight or contemplating exchanging blows in the street, suppose your weapon fell out and was stolen?or used against you. I always imagine myself trying to explain to a judge that I dropped a few f@@k You's before the gun was pulled. I have to side with Bapple here on what to do. I know it sounds pussy but if you can exit, run away even armed its your best option. Also bear spray is a great option.

He should have just shot a white guy and this wouldn't have been a problem.
You are probably correct.

No doubt in my mind. Hell everything was justified until weeks after the media got to it. Poor guy is all I can say. Carrying can be a pita, but worth it.

If I have a gun, I'm walking away. May not be the popular answer here. I'll throw down with anyone but introduce a firearm and it's not worth it. You never know how some dumbass will react once a firearm is in the equation.

the only other option is obvious, just shoot your double barrel shotgun into the air a couple of times and all the bad guys will run away. Joe knows best

Once you make a decision to carry, your outlook on these things has to change. There are no times where it will be ok for you to participate in the jawing and shite talking back and forth. You have to be able to ignore and walk away. If the person will not let you leave and you feel in danger, thats a different story.
This is the only correct answer. You can't get into fights and carry. If you can't stop escalating verbal tensions you do not need to be carrying.
I used to be a brawler (in fact I bounced at some large clubs) so I can handle myself better than average, but unless I am defending myself - and I mean really defending myself or family I do not fight.
Now if need be, I will kill but now a days there is nothing between peace and killing when it comes to personal protection.
Walk away, or shoot away nothing in between.

If you carry, you don't fight unless you are ok with someone dying that day. Period.

Dont go places where you think a fight could occur. Your choices determine your situation.
Honestly, other than jawing at the camp - I havent seen a fight in many years.
