Cecil the Diesel and The Honey Badger

13 years apart but the story sounds similar. Hope it turns out better for Tyrann.
I'm in no way saying what Tyrann did is the same as what Cecil did. All I'm saying is the persona took over for these young men and that led to bad decisions.

You could replace The Diesel with Honey Badger and its the same quote Tyrann made recently.

LSU replaced "Cecil The Diesel." That was the first piece of his past he shed.

"I think 'The Diesel' is the guy that got me in trouble,'' he says. "The Diesel ran in clubs, ran with the wrong people. The Diesel didn't know how to handle all the money or celebrity coming in."

Here are some things Collins gained in the past 13 years: A daughter, Zakayla, who was born from his former girlfriend a month into his sentence and wears his No. 34 at her youth softball games; a wife, Elena, whom he met when she and a friend visited another inmate; a 10-inch scar on his belly after a chicken bone ruptured his esophagus and nearly killed him; a tattoo on his left forearm that reads, "Only God Can Judge Me;" and the nickname "LSU,'' for the school he roots for and once played football.

Cecil was getting in trouble no matter what.

Easy. More benign observations have earned a few weeks of imposed TD vacation.

Such great talents to come through, hopefully Tyrann straightens his path out now before it's too late. Both will always be Tigers.

I just went through my hometown of Leesville today... I think about Cecil every time I pass through.
He did the crime and he's just about done the time. I hope he really can hold it all together once he gets out.
Fwiw, Tyrann couldn't have tackled Cecil in the open field during his prime.

I think Cecil and TM7 are apples and oranges different.
Cecil was wired wrong and engaged in creepy criminal activity while TM7 just liked to get high with friends.
I fail to see the similarities.

I may get blasted for this, but does 15 years full-time seem a bit excessive to anyone else?

Damn. He has a 10 inch scar on his belly after suffering a ruptured esophagus. Something doesn't add up.

It was excessive... Supposedly the victim had connections to a judge or the judge and they made sure to throw the book at him.
Not 100% on this story but it makes sense.

You don't see how their nicknames took on a whole different personality to them.

I hope when he gets out he comes back here and gets involved in helping the community. He had more talent than any RB I have ever seen. Sorry Bo.

Actual sentence times are rarely indicative of how long a guy stays in prison. However, if a guy repeatedly exposes himself and masturbates in front of female guards, he will not get time off for good behavior.
I don't think Cecil and Tyrann Mathieu have a lot in common. Cecil is a sexual deviant. Tyrann is just a kid who likes weed and some pills too much. We will see if he is a true addict or just a guy with low self-discipline in his early 20s in the next few years.

Justing getting high with friends - you are kidding right? Do you think getting high with friends won't lead to other things? Getting drunk with friends usually does also.
Anyway you slice it breaking the law is not the road you want to travel. Some roads "breaking laws" are worse than others but they all are dead end roads "breaking laws" that lead to prison!!!!

It might and it might not, but there is no direct
correlation that I know of between smoking pot and burglary.
If there was, we might need 1000 more prisons.

Is this a joke?
I have several friends who got high and drunk in their first two years at LSU who are doctors and lawyers now.
I don't know any successful people who got caught multiple times in random girls bedrooms watching them sleep.
