I had lived almost down the street for almost 18 years and my parents for the last 30, but not once have we ever had any food from Gio's.
It looks like it'd be great from the outside. Can anyone shed any light on the food? Thanks. I will give it a try next time I visit the parents.
It's right on w Napoleon and transcontinental.

It's pretty good.......Johnny giovatella's parents own the place. (Royals 2nd baseman)

With a last name like that, it's gotta be good. Any suggested items?

Don't go for the ambiance. I haven't been in over 5 years, but I recall it being a pretty solid pie. Not sure I would say it's better than Tower in Metairie but if you are that close definitely go try it.

A very good pie, a little pricey but very good.
I also grew up down the street from there.

I live around there as well.
Pretty good stuff, I usually opt for a meatball poboy or spaghetti/meatballs or chicken parm.
