Money is money, sales are sales, PS3 outsold the 360 this generate, tough shite.
Microsoft market share this generation increased a lot, and Sony's market share went way down. To look at this generation's sales in a vacuum is dumb, especially considering Xbox is a much newer brand than PlayStation.

It's what they do!
To be fair, this forum is largely Americans with a heavy focus on the Southeast. A small minority of the gaming populace and every part of the country (as well as the large differences in other countries!) has their own buying habits and sales leaders.

Adjustments are incoming at the next quarter for the end of fiscal year reports. Been on VgChartz since early 2007 and has 20k posts there.

Vgchartz is a laughing stock around game forums, fwiw.

Sony knows this more than anyone since their revenue and market share this Gen shrunk tremendously and the same for them company wide the past 3 or 4 years.

The first number was shipments. The second he posted is a site that tracks actual sales around the globe. Not perfect, but gives you a good idea of what's happening in the marketplace.

Not really. Only Neogaf since the owner of both sites hate each other. VGC has been quoted by major publishers and publications.

It was the first one I pulled just to show that I can find links to the contrary.

Except Microsoft sucks arse and has failed at every new venture they have tried the last few years.
Bing, Windows Phone, Windows 8 are all terrible and money pits, especially Bing.
Microsoft has been losing 1 billion on Bing per year.

Microsoft (MSFT, Fortune 500) has lost $5.5 billion on Bing since the search service launched in June 2009, but the company's search losses actually pre-date that. In fact, the software giant has never made money in its online services division. Since Microsoft began breaking out that unit's finances in 2007, the company has lost a total of $9 billion.

That's another point. You can ship 5 million units and claim a victory but actual sales, which I posted and Xbox has the edge in, is all that matters. Especially for the point I was trying to make.

Please explain to us how this relates to our current convo?

Microsoft sucks, that's how.
Anyone that supports them is a jackwagon to me and has no idea how terrible that company is across the board.
Sony FTMFW.

But all Sony, MS, and Nintendo care about are shipments. That's how they get their money. Retailers are their hardware customers, not you. Sony has a leg up because they're far more focused worldwide than any other major company. They're the only country to distribute games in India and were the only ones in Brazil until this past year when MS started. This is also the case for many small eastern european countries where retailers have to import consoles and games from other countries since Nintendo or MS don't have any stations in that country.

I feel so stupid for even addressing you in these threads.

U serious? Just look at Xbox. The 360 doubled their market share, but I guess that's a failure now Stop being a fanboy and acting like the PS3 is god because it has shipped/sold a million more units than the 360.

I get all of that but in the same sense it's still telling that with that worldwide "leg up" that Xbox has out sold...not out shipped the PS for about the past 3 years.
