People are really arguing that Moss is the greatest of ALL TIME over Rice?
I love this place
Many experts believe Rice was the greatest Football Player of all time..not just WR

Nobodys really said that

@JerryRice just responded, "Put my numbers up against his numbers."
Yeah
So says the compiler that stuck around so long that he eventually got cut
This is Randy Moss' 14th year in the league. Let's compare his career numbers to Rice's after his 14th year in the league.
.............REC...YARDS....AVG....TD
Moss.....982.....15,292....15.6.....156
Rice...1,139......17,612....15.5.....164
Moss has played in 218 career games. After his 1999 season, Rice had played in 222 career games. When you compare Moss to Rice at that point in Rice's career, the gap only widens
.............REC...YARDS....AVG....TD
Moss.....982.....15,292....15.6.....156
Rice...1,206......18,442....15.3.....169
And you reference him as a compiler. Well Rice's career per game average is still greater than Moss' even though Moss played in almost 100 less games
Receptions per game:
Moss: 4.5
Rice: 5.1
Receiving yards per game:
Moss: 70.1
Rice: 75.6
And Rice caught over 90 passes for more than 1,200 yards as a 40 year old and made the Pro Bowl. That's far from a compiler

I love Moss. Probably my favorite WR of all time. Him being a country dude and Rice being almost unbearable to listen to on ESPN (I mean seriously, he is so bland and cant get any sentence out right), makes me like Moss a lot more over Rice. Moss was definitely faster, but Rice was a better route runner.
Moss (has) played 14 years with 15,000 yards.
Rice played 20 years with about 23,000 yards.
If Moss would have played the number of years Rice did, averaging 1,000 per season, he still wouldnt have more yards than Rice. Rice had four 1,500 yard seasons and Moss only had one.
Rice's best season: 122rec, 1,848 yards and 15 TD's
Moss: 111rec, 1,632 yards and 17 TD's.
edit: I like these two seasons better than Rice's 22 TD year and Moss' 23.
I like Moss a lot better, but Rice is the GOAT.

Moss ran fly routes
Congratufrickinglations
No ones cares if he's a better athlete. Moss didn't say that, he said greatest WR
If we want to include athletic ability, then technically Tron is the GOAT. Faster and a better route runner than Moss

Rice has 500+ more receptions
Rice has 7000+ more yards

Moss is the most talented receiver of all-time. More talented than Rice.
What set Rice apart as a player was his work ethic was unmatched by anyone in the league. Perhaps all-time. He didn't come into the league as the GOAT. He worked his arse off for it start to finish on his hills.
If Moss had Rice's ethic he'd have been amongst the greatest athletes to ever live. Instead he's just a great player who could've been better.

Randy Moss retired. Why would he come back if not to compile stats?
eta: you must be too young to remember prime Rice, whom by the way is considered by many to be THE BEST FOOTBALL PLAYER OF ALL TIME NFL Network says so

Megatron has had two crazy good years in a row. I like last years season better than this years. He had about 300 more yards this year, and broke the all time record , but he had 11 more TD's last year.
If Andre Johnson had been healthy his whole career, he would have some really really good stat totals for the number of years he's been in the league. And if Fitzgerald had a good QB his stats would be scary too. How he racked up 1,400 yards last year blows my mind.

Randy had studs like Jeff George,Randal Cunningham,Dante Cullpepper, and Kerry Collins tossing him the ball most of his career
It is unreal what he has accomplished in his career.

Well Rice played his career with Montana, Young, and Gannon. That's a solid QB list.
