But it got to the point where pretty much all competition was choked out of one class each year leading to some pretty boring football

Wherever Curtis and ECA were placed. That is the root cause of all of this angst, precipitated by the Winnfield principal trying to ensure her kids could get a trophy. In the past 4 years my kids were eliminated by Curtis, Curtis, Calvary and ECA. Hey, sucks for us, in years in which we beat other playoff teams from higher classes, but it was the hand we were dealt. This year, the ECA game could have easily gone our way. It's interesting that all this upheaval is to throw the two lepers into someone else's laps. Nothing more. Everyone wants a trophy, even if they have to get there administratively instead of earning it.

And to the posters that don't believe the public schools want our gate revenue, come witness the stands at one of the public school games in the Baton Rouge area and then get back with me. It isn't unusual for the home team to give us the home side stands because there are so many more of our fans than theirs. And we are a small school.

And for the record, I graduated from a public HS in Baton Rouge (RIP)
