I don't know about ED White... but the three 5-A schools here don't usually play privates on a yearly basis.
We play Brother Martin, and NOT because they bring us money, because WE save & bring them money. They play us at home for both years of the contract. They don't have to rent a stadium to host a home game, they bring maybe 200-300 fans down to Mathews, and split the gate of a packed home side (whether we're good or not).
It is true the inner city schools don't bring many fans but they'll be just fine. If it ends up where they can't play the privates anymore for a paycheck they'll just replace those teams with rural teams (Lafourche/Terrebonne/St John/St James/St Charles) because all those teams will be looking to fill schedules too.

I heard the exec committee split the selects into 5 divisions today, any truth to that?

And to the posters that don't believe the public schools want our gate revenue
quote:Most of these schools will travel well if this does happen. I'd like to check out games in NOLA. Only time I have ever done that was for a playoff game. I don't know that these places bring what a private would bring as for as a gate, when you consider vicinity. It certainly would suffice though.

clhstrojans, how do you feel about your schools vote of yes?
I say again... if the split happens... do we ever see Private vs Public +1?
