What we had in Tennessee. It sucks Public and Private got to play each other during regular season but come playoff time, it was split. Makes state playoffs kinda boring
yep way it was when i was in HS in TN. this format flat out sucks.

Kenny Henderson had nothing to do with this. The member school principals voted on this. I think its almost comical that some people think the LHSAA is going to disband as a result of this. This is just for football only.

Legit in my opinion. Its not fair that the private school play by a different set of rules.
believe me in a couple of years you are going to hate it.

i hope the good public schools pull out with them
then Winnfield can stay and win all the "state title" rings they want

The public schools bitched and complained enough and finally got their way
Not all publics bitched. Mine for instance wanted no part of a split. Blame the woman principal from Winnfield.
This whole thing sucks.

My gf's mom is the principal at Barbe and I talked to her about this just last night. Public schools are sick of private schools recruiting/winning everything.

But it will suck even more for LA because their private schools can actually compete with public schools. I can only speak for MS but there's only maybe 3-4 private teams that could

Henderson could have tabled it instead of letting it go to a vote.

right. TN is probably more like MS.
In TN they split the private into A and AA i think. Our school was in AA with like 7 other schools. 7! How fun come come playoff time.

What a pile of sour grapes. She mad that Barbe was beat by a better Rummel team in the championship? You didn't see Rummel's principal bitching after they lost in the baseball final did you?
I guess you conveniently forget that West Monroe is a public school and they have been slightly successful.
Along with Acadiana, Barbe, Destrehan, Hahnville, Ruston.......yea they all suck and are at a disadvantage......boo freaking hoo.

Other than John Curtis, where is the evidence this is really occurring on any sort of scale at all?

Henderson can't table anything. He is at the mercy of the member schools. Any changes to the LHSAA by laws have to be approved by the Executive Committee and then voted on by the member schools.

The motion to table the proposal was voted down. It was put up teurlings principal.

what?
frick that.
Mississippi has the Public/Private split and it's god awful
In the largest conference (AAA), there are two state champions in two different divisions. Four teams make the playoffs in each to crown a winner.
fricking retarded...you win two playoff games and you're a state champion

But LA has a boatload more private schools, both large and small.
In the long run I don't think it'll be that bad. There are a dozen state champs in Texas and nobody cares. Is it that much different than Curtis and Rummel not getting to play this year because they were in different classifications?

The Executive Committee can table it before it goes to member vote.

I think your time in Texas has tainted your opinion on this.
