Fix is in
Backes with a hit on Huskins, and he gets a 5 minute major. Hit to the head, watch the replay, he wasn't even close to his head. LoL

Caps have now played in FIVE consecutive 3-2 games. That's just silly.
Though Ovie's empty netter should've counted.

Nice to get a win, but the playoff math is still daunting. Based on a full length season, it will take about 54 points in 48 games to make the playoffs this year. Which means we can break the season into 6 groups of 8-game sessions. A team needs to average 9 points per session to reach that magic 54.
Actually, in both conferences, it seems the 8th place team will have 9 points once they have played 8 games. So the math seems to work. The Caps are at 5 points, which is terrible. That means to get back to the 9 points per session average, the Caps would have to go 6-1-1 in their next 8. Which probably isn't happening, even with two games against the Panthers. And that's just to get back on pace. Which they won't do. So the Caps are almost certainly going to be behind the pace until the NEXT 8-game session, which is the season's midpoint. And that's if they average 11 points over both of the next 8-game sessions, or posting a 5-2-1 record. Twice.
Being down 4 points seems small, but it's actually pretty a big hole.

Had one hit the pipe and another pulled back 3/4 of the way over the line.

Just came back from the game. Jagr's shootout goal just snuck in under Smith.
