I am thinking of getting together 5 other friends and renting an RV to travel the Mideast and west parts of america.
White water rafting, Camping, Canoeing, ummm... Drinking... possibly a big city thrown in there.... Are there any recommendations or tips?
TIA

Sounds like a great trip.
If you see any .22 ammo along the way, pick some up for the OB. TIA.

You are going to spend a ton on diesel, I don't know how much a rental is, but it might not be as cheap as you think. Car and motels and tents might be cheaper. If you want to spend the money I'm sure it would be a good time.

Cook some beans with spam and extra hot sauce.

Thats what it's looking like... The crew is all about camping.. I just feel a portable hotel room would eliminate the weather factor.

Really just take off driving and go where ever. Less planning is better on a trip like this.

absolutely , we are "why not" people. Less planning the better. But still need to have a general outline.
I'm thinking 2 weeks.

Summertime or winter time?
Arizona has almost every ecosystem you can ask for. Good scenery outdoor adventure stuff. Good bars here and there.

Hit 25 north to Denver. Visit Rocky Mountain, drive North . Hit I-90 and go West. When the road runs out and ocean is in front, go South. You will burn up 10 days in a hurry and barely start covering all the great things you can find out West.

Class A diesel RVs get about 6mpg. Last I heard rental was around $1500 per week.
You may do better with a class C, they usually sleep more folks, they just don't have the carrying capacity so don't overload it.

Had some buddies do this. They bought a minivan, though. When they were done, they sold it and broke even.

Decent rv rentals are pricey. Had a buddy come to a rental agreement with a guy trying to sell one on Craigslist. They came out ahead. It took a bit of trying though.
