Tuberville messes up relationship with top Ohio football program
Some damned good players come out of this school. This will hurt him in the state.

I read that, pretty interesting. I wonder how many players from the south he'll pull into Cincy.

fricking up the Massillon relationship is so stupid. Waiting on him to do the same with St. Eds, St. Ignatius, Mooney, etc.

Sounds like the coach and kid were mad Tubberville offered another QB and the kid decomitted on his own. Coach comes off as a huge bitch in that article.

There's probably more to the story than what article includes, but I've never understood a high school coach 'blocking' a college coach/program from recruiting his players... the people he's most likely to end up hurting are his future players.
And I love how the HS coach uses the third-person with his quote... he might think a little more highly of himself than others.

Massillon is a shell of its former self.

That HS coach thinks he's more important than he actually is...

How does the reporter interview the coach, but not know if the kid's offer was pulled by Cincy or if the kid decommitted on his own?
Makes me think he left on his own after Cincy recruited some competition at the position and this HS coach is trying to bully Cincy.
Hard to tell with such a poorly researched and written article.

do not have a problem with this. If Tuberville doesn't like the kid why should he be forced to take him?

it happened to A&M with Fran and many Texas high school coaches. While he was HC I was working at an East Texas news station. I had at least 4 coaches from 4A and 5A schools tell me they would try to steer athletes from coming to Aggieland so long as Fran was coach. They flat hated the man and thought he was a full of himself, pompous, a-hole. I was shocked that coaches would willingly offer up info such as that to a news person upon finding out I was an Aggie but they didn't care b/c the damage had already been done.
The one thing I will always give Sherman tons of credit for is healing those relationships.

My take is that it was handled poorly and feathers were ruffled but there seems to be an overreaction on the part of the Massillon coach. Massillon still puts out a good number of D1 athletes so it is a school that Cincinatti should want to recruit in. I don't think it's been said that Tuberville didn't like the kid but that an assumption was made that he'd follow the previous coach.

Tubs may have felt that there was a reasonable chance that he would follow Butch Jones to UT, and wanted some insurance at the position.

also they keep talking about massillon but also mention some washington HS. guess you have to be from there to understand what that article is talking about because its confusing as hell.

Washington Massillon High School. It's where Paul Brown began his coaching career.

Gotta love high school coaches that are used to arse kissing from the previous coaching staff

Jason Hall is a fricking dipshit if he is taking this stance, and is a detriment to those kids he "coaches".
