Either dry hanging in a cooler, or on ice in a chest?

are you desperately trying to find an answer different from what I told you this morning?
I'll help you do it tomorrow afternoon, if I can stand the smell..
eta: dry hanging in a cooler for a week is much different than soaking in water for a week, even with ice......

When possible 24 hours in an ice chest or hanging in a stand up cooler.

My grandfather left a field-dressed doe in the trunk of his Buick for a week in 30-something degree temps.

If you have to, then you have to,,, but I would do something with it if it's the same stuff that was in your truck the other night? Wasn't that right after Christmas?

I'm usually a 3 to 6 day guy, but due to my laziness and a busy schedule, I had an Axis and a few whitetail on ice for the past ten days. Washed it off well and it seems perfect....nice and tender...

I've hung em up in a tree for as much as 5 days when we used to actually have cold winters here. In January in south Alabama (Pike County and Bullock County) I've quartered them and put em in an ice chest, keeping the meat constantly covered with ice for a week. But ya gotta have a drain plug in that ice chest like the other poster said.
