Medal of Honor Warfighter is a satisfying game

I gave up on it big time. Danger Close and EA patched it this month, and while it's definitely not perfect, there are some really good things this game does well.
First, the bad.
-Menus are difficult to navigate.
-Graphics aren't the best, but they get the job done.
-The unlock system isn't overly informative or intuitive.
Now, the good.
+My Gun is probably only second to Ghost Recon's Gunsmith as far as cool weapon customizations go.
+The actual gunplay is phenomenal. Guns are not lasers and they should act differently when outfitted for different ranges, mobility and stealth. That is all done very well in Warfighter.
+The game modes are pretty fun. Hot Spot is sort of like Headquarters, but you have to arm and defuse it rather than have all your people sit in a room and wait for a timer to tick down. Combat Mission is like Rush in BF. There's also TDM and a mode called Homerun, which is like CTF.
+Support Actions. The support actions are the same for each soldier in a class, but they are different across the six classes. Nothing is overpowered.
+This game is not easy. Kills are extremely gratifying. Wins are even more so.
Recommendation
It's roughness and nonintuive unlock progression aside, the game is rewarding after you get over the hump. I'm not saying get this game immediately. I'm saying that if you see it in the $15 bin or on sale for next to nothing on Amazon, give it a shot. But you have to want to keep playing it. I think once players get over the hump in Warfighter, there is a lot to like.
The one thing that outweighs the bad is how well the guns feel when you shoot them and how satisfying a kill is. I know I'm swimming against the current with BO2 out, and it's unrealistic to forget that game. But Warfighter feels so satisfying once you figure it out. It just takes patience.

I didnt say this exactly but I said the exact same thing a few weeks after it dropped.
Oh and a 2 hit melee kill was awesome! Plus the action was not "panic knife"-ish

You are the last person I ever expected in here. But I'm glad you're here. Do you still have it?
The core of this game is great. The rest of the peripherals were rushed. That's EA's fault.

Nah... Traded it in for BLOPS II.
I really liked it. I played with a few guys from TD. I caught a shitton of flack from my COD fanbase, especially when I opted out of BLOPS I reunions.
If I catch it on the cheap Im getting it. The Single player was ok. Missions felt like patched together real time events but it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G graphically.

I didn't care for the demo. To me if I have to try to like a game and "give it time", it's just not worth it for me. I usually know within an hour or two if I'm going to like a game or if it's just a grind.

I didn't even know this game came out until a few days ago when I saw it in the store. They didn't push is anywhere near what they did last year.

It was ok, I enjoyed the leveling rush but once that wore off so did the appeal.

That's understandable. I'm not pumping sunshine for Warfighter at all. It's just turned into a guilty pleasure especially after I've given it some patience. And whoever called it a grind is right but it isn't that way for too long.

So I should buy it?

I would say rent first but you need to give it some patience. For people that want a quick and easy pick right up and play well game this isnt it.

You know I'm not a dudebro

It's $30 new on Amazon. If you can find a used copy, go for it, but I think it requires that gay online code like all EA games. Limited Edition gets you the two extra maps and a few other attachments/camos.
I know you're not a dudebro, but I'm just going to warn you that I didn't say it was awesome. Just that it's satisfying to play well and I think you'll like the gunplay.

Bump for regular workday eyes. No one still cares, probably.

I concur sir. I just wish they had more weapons to choose from.

When you go into the different classes, it turns out there are lots to choose from. But they are not noob weapons, they are very difficult to be effective with.
I love the idea of the LaRue OBR for the point man, but I get mauled in CQ because it's a single shot rifle. You have to be really good with it.

I hope you give it some patience, breh.

HMO but 5 variant types of the same gun isn't really "lots" of choices. You may have 10 guns to choose from but 3 or 4 are usually identical without a clear delineating features.
I rolled with the spec ops class and the MP 7 was sick. The juggernaut tank class is annoying as frick. But overall the classes were fairly balanced.
The maps were kinda meh. Agree?

I meant over the six classes, the choices add up. There are clear differences in the HK 416 in the assaulter class and the demolitions class, even though it's the same weapon under name. There are just small differences in the same weapon in the same class, I agree, but I didn't expect a slew of weapons like BF3.
The Spec Ops class is the most annoying class, but they aren't overpowered. The snipers are second to most annoying because they are lethal and usually you don't see it coming--very camper friendly. Not many people use the heavy gunner bipod, and that thing can chew people up pretty good.
The maps...well, once you learn them you get the hang of them. They aren't great, but they aren't terrible either.
Like I said, this isn't a dong chugging sunshine pump thread, just one that says maybe after getting over the hump in this game it's enjoyable.

MAPS are ok but the amount of them isn't.
Also the spawn trapping on the objective games is crazy.
Overall I liked it.it was a nice filler game.
