I don't think he could get in either, although to be fair Joe Namath has the worst stats of any HOF QB and pretty much got in for his "impact" and persona.

yeah, the bama fans ragging on bo made me think of joe namath

FWIW, I thought Bo was absolutely phenomenal as a football player but wildly over-rated as a baseball player... he was the kind of baseball player who people raved about for his freakish physical abilities rather than his excellence as a player

Bobby Layne's are about the same as Namath (and Archie Manning), but he played in a different era so that's somewhat misleading

And in fairness to Namath he had 3 or 4 great years -- that and the SB got him in
