Any recommendations for a sling: 1, 2, or 3 point?
It mainly sits in the corner and occasionally makes it to the range. I may take a class one day.
(searched and couldn't find anything)

Blue Force makes good stuff. I use a Magpul MS4. The Haley Strategic D3 Sling is another good option. The Frank Procter sling gets a ton of great reviews and isnt expensive at all.

I assume this is the place to do it, but just picked this up earlier this afternoon. (Stock image btw): Savage Arms MSR-15 Patrol
First impressions is that it's quite nice, hand guard is very comfortable. I'm iffy on the grip however.
This is my first AR so I'm not quite as experienced with the platform as y'all but look forward to putting lots of rounds through it. Undecided on what do as far as optics go, suggestions are always welcome.

I have a couple Blue Force Gear slings and a Proctor sling.
At this point I think I prefer the Blue Force Gear padded sling over the Proctor.

Dont change anything. Shoot it and see what you think is lacking. If it were my gun, I would first change the stock, grip, rail, and trigger just because I don't like blackhawk furniture and because the ALG ACT trigger is cheap and amazing.

Optics planet told me that my Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 isn't going to ship until mid-May. Are they full of shite or did Vortex push back the date?

Vortex is absolutely fricking terrible with ship dates. Our store orders on new shite took months

I have WW SRC-308.
I want to put the 15" Midwest Industries SS Keymod handguard on it.
Handguard
I like the look of the top rail, the functionality of the key mod and the fact that it has 5 locations for sling swivel attatchments.
I do not like the $200+ price for it.
I have Cabelas points to spend, but do not see this exact model sold at Cabelas and unsure what else would specifically fit my gun in this style.
I also know that I don't have the tools or the know how to install this guard.
Holla...

The only "hard part" of that is the special barrel nut. You could go to any gunsmith and they would install for around $20. If you don't have to swap barrel nuts its a very easy install with an allen wrench

Got a question about barrel/handguard clearance. I am in the process of building a Mk18 Mod1 clone, because I'm not dropping $1200 on a Daniel Defense Mk18 upper. I am going with a 10.5" barrel, maker is yet to be determined. I want to go with a 10" quad rail so I can have as little gap as possible between the end of the rail and the flash hider, but still have enough room to mount a SiCo can on an ASR flash hider. I am planning to go with a 10" Midwest Industries Gen3 T series in FDE:
I just built a 11.5" faxom barrel with a slr 11" hand guard. SLR says there guard is 10.93 (solo ultra lite). I was able to get a SiCo ASR mount on it and tested it with the mount that goes on the can (still waiting). It clears and its pretty close. I am not sure that it would have worked if it was a full 11" hand guard. I posted some pics a few pages months ago.
edit for pics

I just got the vtac hunter non slip version...worked great. Not a big huge wide shoulder pad....minimal and effective.

I appreciate the offer but I am going to stick with them since I am only paying $432 for it

Thanks...still havent shot the damn thing yet tho. Every chance I have I remember, at that point, I need to get a round end allen wrench to adjust the gas block

I finally finished my build last week and still haven't put a round through it either... gonna try and go shoot this weekend if the weather holds up. Hopefully after dropping all this money the damn thing fires.

Its been a few months for me...just hadn't had time or the tool I need to adjust it. Its a mid length 11.5" so I know ill need to adjust it for it to cycle.
