This just doesn't sit right with me. Cowboys supporting Brent.

I just don't get why the cowboys and the family of Josh Brown are actively supporting the guy who is fully responsible for the death of Jerry Brown. If anything they should want to distance themselves from him. Of course this is just my opinion. What is yours on this issue?

I support Brent as well. He should suffer the consequences of his second DUI, maybe do some jail time to teach him a lesson. Brown is more responsible for his own death than Brent, IMO. He made the choice to get in the car with his friend who had been drinking, but we never want to blame the party who died.

wow that was interesting, because ESPN was making him out to be a hero even though he was drunk.

if i got in a car drunk with one of my best friends that was drunk and we got in a wreck and I died... id hope for my family and friends to not find fault and forgive that person...also wouldnt want him to go to prison either

Well put.
It's not like this dude was driving solo and killed another person in another vehicle.
They were partying and Brent made the worst decision of his life and lost his best friend because of it. Why should he be banned from the service?

And I agree with this sentiment, as well.
My point is that there is a bit more to this story, and it's a sad, sad story all around.
Brent is going to go through hell for the rest of his life without others bashing him. I have no problem with his team's decision to support him right now.

I'm guessing Brown was not wearing a seatbelt, correct? Anyone know what Brent's blood alcohol level was? Maybe he was just barely teetering on the legal line, which we all know varies from person to person

Brown's mother, Stacey Jackson, asked for Brent to meet her at the airport and sit with the Brown family during the memorial service, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday morning on his weekly radio show on KRLD-FM.

Correct. This may sound trashy on the surface, but think about it from your own point of view.
It probably rarely crosses your mind when getting in the car with someone who's had some drinks. You are taking an inherit risk.
I've gotten in cars with people who have been drinking, which is dumb on my part because I know the risk I'm taking.

She sounds like an absolute idiot looking for her ten seconds of fame. Instead of yelling at him, why not go help Brown herself? It's usually bystanders that help, especially in a situation like this. Brent was drunk and probably shaken up that he was just in a crash that flipped his car over.
For the OP, I think his family and the Cowboys should support him, especially in a time like this for him. The guy just killed his best friend and I don't think anyone could imagine that kind of pain and guilt. He needs a support system behind him now more than any time in his life

More people need to show forgiveness in this world.

I'm sorry, but if my best friend and I are partying and he's driving and I die in an accident and my family scolds him because of it I'd want to come back and slap the shite out of everyone of them. It's a shitty situation, but if I'd had known damn well what I was doing and I'd be ashamed of my family for not reaching out. I know damn well my friend would be completely devastated to begin with.

I was in an accident (sober) where a motorcycle hit me and the guy wasn't wearing a helmet went into a ditch.
I'm CPR/First Aid certified and I froze. I thought he was dead.
