Lawless would have been 10x better if someone other than Shia Laboof played Jack

That is all.

I tend to agree. Never really figured out whether I liked his character or not. I found myself rooting for him to die at certain points just so I wouldn't have to listen to that terrible accent. Overall that movie was pretty rough. Some really gruesome, tough to watch stuff.

When the movie started with his voice over, I wanted to turn it off. How do you let the foreigner sound more authentic than you?

I don't understand how he keeps getting work. He's crap, and pretty much every movie he is in is made worse by him being in it. The fact that Spielberg has a major hard on for the half jew, half cajun mutt and will throw roles at him until one of the two dies makes me sick.

Yeah, I'm mad. If someone said to you "Make a list of 10 actors that could play Indiana Jones' son" would Le Bouf be on there? But there he was on the big screen in that bloody abortion Spielberg made, a short little bitch in leathers with a jew-fro trying to look hard and just looking lost. Even Harrison Ford must have questioned that hire. Shia's lucky Sean Connery wasn't in that one too, or he would have been Scottish-bitch slapped off the production lot.

I don't hate Shia, but I also don't feel he has ever ADDED something to a single movie he was in.

Yeah he ruined it for me. He needs to stick to transformers and holes and such.

Shia is a decent actor but the accent was crazy. He also don't look the part.
He's not a "star" - can't open a movie. But he's been smart picking projects that hide this.

I thought he did a good job. I didn't see anything egregiously wrong with he did. I thought he played a good "pussy who wished he was as hard as his older brother."
Damn. Easy killer.

It was mainly his accent. I live near Franklin, VA. I know the accent. He botched it.

I'm sorry to say I'm not familiar with it. I'm sure plenty of actors have screwed up accents to the people that know them really well. Unless it's as bad as Cage in Con Air, I'm not gonna be that irked by it.

Some of you guys put way too much emphasis on an accent. A fricking ACCENT. Ermergerd that isn't what a backwoods hillbilly sounds like! Movies botch accents all the time.

Is it worse than Costner in Robin Hood?

LeBouf's accent was the least of the problems.
First of all, the movie should have been subtitled. I couldn't understand half of what was said.
Second, the script was all over the place. I felt they should have concentrated more on the central conflict between the family and guy pearce's character.
Also, what was the purpose/role of oldman's character? I felt that aspect would have been much more important and would have added to the film.
Overall, I was entertained but left wanting.

He's who Jack aspired to be.

If someone said make a list of the 10 reasons that Indiana Jones. Shia lebouf might not be on the list. Young DDL could have played the kid and it still would have been one of the worst movies ever.

Every movie Shia has been in would've been 10x better with someone else.
