Peter may still be able to do observer type stuff... Depends on how the brain changed effected him in the long run..
Peter explaining to Walter how amazing the tech was makes me think Walter may end up inserting the test tech into his brain by the end of this...
Both are good theories. I can see either happening. The changes to Peter's brain already occurred to an extent, so he might have some new abilities that remain. Walter implanting the tech is even more possible because of his curiosity and motivation to take out the observers. Peter was willing to sacrifice himself to end the war. Walter is the same way, probably even more now.

Unless Joshua Jackson began gene theropy to become Michael Cerveris by the end of the season.. I'm gonna go with, no.
Peter "becoming" an Observer was completely a nod to the fans who have been around since the very beginning and followed Fringe a good bit. During season 1 Peter showed up at comic-con dressed as an observer.. him putting the tech in his body was just a nod to this.
I also believe if we had had another season, we might have actually had a full fledged 14-21 episode arc with Peter having the tech in his head.. and looking a bit more like an Observer over that time, but lo they are short on time, I also think we might have seen this in the past, and not in the future.

Can't believe there are only 6 episodes left. Does anyone know if they actually filmed the finale yet?

If they haven't, they are definitely close. I feel like they would have to be done by now though.
They all know how it's going to go down though. This is the only season where that happened.

Fairly certain they've seen the script for the whole season and that's how this whole season has been.

The Observer known as Abrams wrote the ending to this show in 2007.. so yes, yes they did.

and made everyone realize they were in purgatory.. oh wait, nvm, he wrote the ending to Fringe before even starting production BECAUSE he didn't do that for Lost, and regretted it.

I wonder if Leonard Nimoy will play a big role in the last six eps of Fringe, like he did in the reboot of Star Trek.....hmmmmm.....
