What would it take to reverse the current of the MS River?

I was hunting with my buddy and we thought how cool it would be to be able to catch snapper and tuna in the river and not be forced to go several miles offshore in the dangerous GOM. To be able to use the resource of the River as a salt water fishing spot would make life so easy.

Might happen soon for free with no rain up north...

superman just needs to hover over the mouth, then blow

couldn't they just build a structure?

Idk. Try some nukes or something.

Not too much effort, as long as we do the lake P conversion to FW at the same time.

Major earthquake can do, did it back in the early 1800s.

Didnt the flow reverse when the mine collapsed and that massive whirlpool was formed in the lake? See that's all you need.

I was thinking earthquake.

I was under the impression that it flowed that way because of elevation
IIRC, strong hurricanes can reverse the flow

correct. gradient is the answer here. it's the river's greatest strength and weakness. enough gradient to keep the flow to the GOM and alleviate flooding up north but not enough to take advantage of for power generation.

An earthquake like the Madrid quake in the 1800's.
A big hurricane.
No water coming downstream wouldn't reverse the flow, but would allow saltwater to back upstream a ways.

Blow up the structures at old river control

If saltwater back upstream, isnt that the same as reversing the flow. It stops going one direction and goes the other.

Mind blown
