This. Miles never considered leaving and should have told Arkansas that, he most likely did, no problem there. But then he used them to get a raise from LSU. You should only get a raise for winning a BCSNC or SEC. Yes he one the SEC last year but I think he lost that raise with that BCS proformance. Coudld LSU give him a pay cut when he has a down year? Alleva should have called his bluff.
Or maybe once he got the call and rumors started to spread, they decided to speed up the process to shut down the rumors as soon as possible. You think they were able to nail down a new contract in like 18 hours? This thing was probably already in the works, and in an honorable act, Les and LSU agreed to speed up the process.
How do I know this? I don't. And neither does anyone else except for a select few people that don't have time to post on td.com.

like i said. you have no idea what happened. news leaks all the time. and in the grand scheme...its not even a big deal that it leaked. it was over in 2 days. but i guess we have to find something to blame on Miles, right? no matter how baseless the claim is.
if he had an agreement / insisted on one, this would not have happened....multi million $ lawsuit could have developed for Ark.
he obviously did not mind it being leaked so as to serve his purpose.
it is a ploy...and many have fallen for it.

Miles is now responsible for all news leaks people....remember this.

Didn't Boston College fire Jagodzinski for interviewing with another team about 5 years ago? That's what came to mind when Miles was talking to Arkansas. Miles should be told this is it. The next time he talks to someone he better leave on his own or he will be fired. He keeps squeezing LSU for raises/extensions and most are tired of it. I guess the real problem is Alleva. LSU needs a real AD that won't roll over at the drop of a hat.
Are you people really this ignorant? Noone has said anything about him INTERVIEWING for anything. Arkansas throwing an offer on the table doesnt mean he even talked to them. In all likelyhood, his college buddy that happens to be the AD at Arkansas called him or his agent up and said "hey, if you want to come up here and coach the razorbacks, we'd be willing to give you X amount of money". Going from the lack of anything in the media, I doubt Arkansas has actually interviewed anyone at this point. When you have a record like Miles does, schools don't need an interview before making an initial "test the waters" offer.

you're so naive....this wasn't a contract negotiation

Use common sence. So you think Arkansas just called Les and offered him all that money and he said no thanks? Most likely they called and talked and asked if he might be interested, now if he was truely interested in going to Arkansas and be with his pal then money would be whats left to discuss and the offer was reasonable I would think. Come on you know he had zero interest in the job and used it as leverage.

Was he singing that same tune when $$$$$ left LSU to go to the NFL? Or when Miles left OSU to come to LSU? How about when Muschamp left Texas to go to Florida?
If he's been consistent in his reasoning, then I have no problem with what he says. If he's just picking on Les, then he's just being a tool.

anyone ripping Miles is absolutely nuts. He did what most high end professionals do when it comes to their position and their salary. He was offered more by a competitor and his current boss showed loyalty by giving him a raise. If LSU couldn't or wouldn't offer Miles a raise and extension, it would reflect poorly on the University, and Miles would then consider making a move based on the pros (money and commitment) and cons (moving to struggling arkie and starting over with HIS style program) . LSU simply locked Miles up with a comparable offer that shows loyalty. Miles probably had minimal involvement and his agent handled 90% of everything. Miles' press quotes were benign and honest. He doesn't appear like he was some slime ball searching our more money... it was well deserved because the market demanded it.

some of you idiots are acting like Miles went out searching for a job offer.
No we are saying he leaked the info as leverage to get a raise and more years. I find nothing wrong with what he did, but to act like he is a bystander is tard behavior. Les got paid. Be happy for him.

No, I do not believe a state (or the school) called him. I do believe that his long-time friend called and they had a discussion. This was confirmed by Les. I agree that he had zero interest. If you don't think Les was getting a raise anyway, you are dumb.

but again...this is just baseless speculation. yet you state is as fact. thats whats annoying....people on here making accusations based on nothing like they were there. especially when Miles has done nothing in the past to be called immoral, unprofessional, or low in character.

But you state that it didn't go down that way as if it's a fact. Do you not see the hypocrisy?
