Also looking at maybe trying to fit 305/65/17 on my stock F-150 FX4

not sure about for the price, but I am in love with my MTR w/Kevlar, great tire, good traction, good wear, and quiet. Not sure about your sizes as I am just a tad bit larger than those

Toyos are my favorite, but aren't really cheap.
I think the nitto trail grapplers are on the lower end price wise.

Open Country MT's???
If so, they are a very heavy tire, but very good stuff

What kind of mileage can you get out of the Nitto Trail Grapplers on a 1/2 ton pickup?
Posted on 11/16/12 at 11:35 am to NYCAuburn
Yeah. Got a half tread set of 33's for realll cheap. They're awesome compared to cooper stt's and nitto mud grapplers.
I want some Mickey Thompson's for my next set.

Eta - read that wrong.
My buddy's had his for 2 years or so and they're not even half worn yet. I'd say 40k miles for sure, maybe 50.

I had a set of the MTZ's for my street tires when I was still on 35's, they last me about 40k, but got noisy towards the end

Nitto Trail Grapplers
Wish they would bring back the Co-Ops

285/70/R17, sorry not worried about gas mileage, how many miles can you get out of the trails?
Posted on 11/16/12 at 11:40 am to FelicianaTigerfan
Haha the sad thing is that $300 a tire is on the lower end for mud tires. Just be happy you don't have 20's .
I read your post wrong. I edited it.

You should check the prices for my MTR w/kevlar, I have a set of 40's and 37's, those frickers arent cheap. But for your size I would assume you should be able to find something good in the 2-250 range. What are your uses for the tires? just mud?

Priced some Kickey Thompsons Baja claws for 286 a tire. Anybody with experience with those?

I think those are the ones I had awhile back on my old jeep, Arent the directional? harder to rotate efficiently if so

If its rained I have about 15 miles of mud to drive through to hunt. Kinda worried about wear in the summer pulling a boat with them though

I'd stay away from the claws, with mickey Thompson's, at the most agressive the MTZ's or even the ATZ radials.
Are you sure an agressive All terain wont work for you?
Also how hevay of a boat and trailer? make sure your tires have a decent weight rating if towing
