So what is different about you guys offense as compared to 2010? I remembered y'all having two qbs back then.

A lot is different from 2 years ago
STM uses one QB, no more wildcat running QB
STM SR QB Brandon Bergeron
3050 yards passing
73% comp
35 TDs
9 INTS
they have two 900+ yard receivers (Kelley/Juneau) and three pass catching TEs (fabre/Lochridge brothers), they also have a 900+ yard RB (Dozier).
They have scored 456 pts this year through 11 games and given up 197. This is no dink and dunk offense, the YPC avg is 14.5.
Warren Easton tried to blitz 8 or 9 and play man on the outside with cover zero over the top and Bergeron, Kelley and Juneau torched them.
The STM defense started off the season slow but they have gotten better week after week. The secondary is very fast and great in coverage. The weakness of the team may be facing a physical running game. They haven't seen a running team pound the ball at them since the Central game because they are usually leading and the opponent has to play catch up.
Should be a good game if St Aug can run the football and keep the STM offense off the field. If St Aug struggles defending the STM passing game and St Aug falls behind then Fournette wont be a factor.

2 Words Brandon Bergeron!!!!!!!! I thought I played on the best team in STM History in 05. I think this team has us beat.

What year did you graduate?
Posted on 11/12/12 at 6:33 pm to supatigah
Yea that's what I thought. I don't think we will be bringing the house as usual but we definitely will man up while mixing it up.

Gary Triplett, Courville, from Central do not equal a power running game. I saw St. Amant shut Central's "power" running game down. Leonard Fournette is a power back. I don't know too much about the rest of St Aug's team except Fournette but you can't compared anybody on Central to Fournette. Should be a great game. I still can't get that Sulphur loss STM suffered out of my head. That Sulphur team was pretty bad. I don't think STM brought in a bunch of new players.

Yea I saw the highlights that was read option central was running with the lil scat back.

Well coached teams that avoid injuries tend to get better as a season goes on. STM Replaced 19/22 starters and both kickers from last year
the sulphur game was August 31. That was 11weeks ago. Because of isaac, STM had one day of regular practice before they played that game.
Central was 10 weeks ago in week two and they are the only team that ran straight at STM with any sustained success and that was with the QB keeper. Mainly they wore out the STM defense in the 4th qtr
STM has moved some guys around and are playing some younger guys on defense that has made a big difference
Westgate, Teurlings, Northside, Breaux bridge, St Martinville, Cecilia, warren Easton all tried to run straight at and around STM with little to no success
If STAug can't stop the STM passing game and they fall behind big early, Fournette may not be much of a factor. If he plays some LB he may be an even bigger factor than just playing RB
What Aug fans should be asking themselves is how do the aug coaches prepare for the STM offense? Do they have anyone to run a scout team offense like STM's? If the aug CBs can play man and their LBs can blitz they may get pressure on Bergeron. No pressure or sit in zone and Bergeron will slice them up with his WRs and TEs.

I know for a fact that Easton runs a spread and they probably threw the ball 30 times. I doubt yall have seen a oline as big as ours or a rb as big and fast as ours. From what I understand Easton had some success running the ball but the coach got super pass happy as usual. Our defense will come with a mix of blitzes we wont let him sit back there.

Yeah, Easton did not gameplan well on D... They really don't have the CBs to play man... Plus their young QB(only a soph) played terrible in the 1st qtr(w/3 INTs)... Hey 5, if you have Cox, with on demand service, the STM/Central as well as TC/BB replays are still on...
STM mixed it up well... Their QB is smart... When he was pressured, his accuracy was off... The Knights will have to read and know when to apply the pressure...
As long as Crutch don't get to pretty on O and utilize Fournette, Herb, & Berry in the backfield with the big FB we shouldn't have any problems with running... Have to minimize the stupid penalties though...
Hey supa, will there be any ticket sells at the gate?
Also, what time do they open the stadium for attendees?

You do realize you can run at an opponent from a spread formation, right? We have seen a ton of spread zone read, some wing t, some power I this season but no back nearly as good as fournette
Easton threw and ran with a good mix, then fell behind 21 points and was basically finished. Easton had two nice runs with their scat back #22 gardner but they were down
35-6 by that point.
Easton was 11/20 for 117 yds, 1td and 3INTs
They had 25 rushes for 184 yds
105 by capers-smith on 14 carries and 79 by Gardner on 11 carries

Don't put any stock in the central game, a lot has changed since then
STM VS TCHS and STM VS BB are obviously closer To what you should expect on Friday
there will be plenty of tickets at the gate. You can usually start going inside the stadium between 5:30 and 6.
The word we have heard over here is aug 2012 vs aug 2010 is
2012 > 2010 defensively
2010 > 2012 offensively

I totally understand that but when u have a back like ours if you want to run the spread you have to be multiple which we are. I form, pistol, 3 wide, 4 wide. And if that QB had that many yards rushing im sure yall employed three drop eight yall like to employ.
95 yea i got cox imma take a look at it.

That is very true regarding the 2012 and 2010 teams.

Yeah, the '10 team was sr laden led by Trai Turner & Jonah Austin on O with a young/raw Fournette... I wasn't in town to catch that season...
We have a new staff breaking in a bunch of soph/jr with a mixture of sr, but the team is finally peaking... They know STM is ran by a veteran staff, but they already faced a tough schedule, including Karr & Rummel, both whom are title favorites, so they will be prepared...

We are fully expecting Fournette to get his yards and The game to be a 4 Qtr struggle

The attacking scheme is probably better, not sure about the talent especially when Trai was in at nose.

The QB had that many yards rushing long after the game was decided for the most part
Posted on 11/12/12 at 9:37 pm to dj30
Say D to be honest Trai was not that good at nose. He might have had two good games at the most
