I am tempted to see Sacramento's attendance tonight as it is their first home game and probably will join the Hornets and Suns as teams that can't get a packed arena during opening week.

I'm not flaming, but is this an obsession with you?

The dude is flaming, take note he doesn't respond to most posts in the thread. Just throws out some bait and watch us go at each others neck. That's the definition of what we call a troll arse loser looking to stir up the masses. He only post in threads or make threads dealing with attendance.

VOR, I don't think those are sold.
If they were, then a 14k paid attendance means the upper bowl is half available, so less than half full in game day.
Factoring in scalpers that buy, what, 1k of 'dead' tickets, the upper deck would be a ghost town. All of it. It is not.
Those expensive ones aren't selling at a rate exceeding that of the cheapies.

Why are people still bitching about attendance?

Answer a question for me . . . honestly. How long have you been attending Hornets games and how many have you attended? There's a purpose to the question.
Been going since they came back from OKC. I watched a bunch on Cox and then have made 2-3 a year minimum and more in the better years. Been to 20+ over the years. Bought a 12 game pack for Friday games this year instead of picking up cheap tickets on StubHub.
I live in BR so it is tough to make a bunch of games every year.

Has nothing to do with flaming or trolling. I bring out facts about how terrible the Hornets attendance is so far and I just get typical excuses "who cares" responses.

When every team in the NBA(Besides Phoenix) has a sellout in the first week besides yours, it doesn't look that great towards your fanbase.
Posted on 11/6/12 at 12:29 am to GrandeBeli
It doesn't look good the part of the fanbase that knows nothing about attendance or business.
It looks just fine to those who knew it would not be good.
Which are you?

Enlighten me on why the attendance is so low then. I didn't expect a packed house every game so far but none of them have even gotten close to a sellout. I guess New Orleans is the ONLY city that has legit excuses for this though! Instead of attacking me for putting up actual numbers, why not discuss the issue in a respectful manner?
Posted on 11/6/12 at 5:17 am to GrandeBeli
Respect would include you already having read an article at a link I posted earlier in the thread explaining exactly that.
You can't turn this around on me.
You are the one being disrespectful to your fellow readers. I've never pretended to have a rosey view of attendance, but I back up my points.
You still haven't answered any questions satisfactorily. I don't expect it either.

Indiana @ Atlanta: 10,684
Brookyln @ Miami: 19,627
Denver @ Houston: 13,372
Orlando @ Minnesota: 17,121

Philadelphia @ New Orleans: 12,988
Toronto @ Dallas: 19,763

VOR, I don't think those are sold.
When I've been to change seats on the "pick a seat" day or whatever the hell it's called, I seem to recall very few of those seats being available. Certainly not the number represented by the empty ones.

I think they don't always put all the signs out to give the appearance of limited inventory. The high dollar stuff is the least risk of being puchased in a cattle call.
I have witnessed people purchase such seats with no `marker' on them at such an event. I've just gone to watch, chatted people up who were purchasing.
I think they try to get a set number of them out to keep up appearances so there is sublte pressure to buy. Consider: the the top row in any price level have any tags? No. Clearly they aren't listing all the inventory. They are listing enough to make the commodity appear scarce. Perpetually.

Interesting theory. Could be.
But I'm in two groups: one in the Club and one in the corner in 110.
And when we've tried to look at some of the seats that did not have the markers (and which would, in some cases, increase the price for us), we were told they were unavailable. Why would they not want us to upgrade?

Not sure. Idiot salesmen?
Aren't they lowering prices on club seats? If they are selling or sold, why do that?
Where did I read that?
I call the rep.
However, how could they all be sold with an average of 12k per game sold now? Preseason attendance tells you what the sales are... no way the 9.3k is most of the lower bowl. Maybe some are sold as plans, not as sth, but then they are like 1/4 sold or so.
