Would LSU's players be more disciplined on the field during games, if

Miles was less of a "players' coach" and more of a "Martinet" (i.e., a no-nonsense disciplinarian)? All coaches, including Miles, need to understand that it is much better to be respected by your players than it is to be liked by them. Coaching is not a popularity contest.

What gives you the idea that he is a player's coach and not a disciplinarian?

I have a good friend that played for Saban and he said Sabanwas the biggest prick on the planet, but he knew how to win and he knew that as long as they did what they were told they would be winners.

No.
If this were the case then every "player's coach" would have a team filled with undisciplined penalties. Then those guys wouldn't get the jobs that they get. But they do get those jobs, because not all of those teams get penalties.
I saw somewhere that LSU has started more freshman than any other school. That is a much bigger factor in penalties than what you are suggesting.

By the board's logic, should Chavis be held responsible for the defensive penalties?
I feel like the offsides, personal fouls and pass interference calls on defense kept A&M drives going, especially in the 4th quarter.

We are winning better than any SEC/BCS school in the nation since 05 and our HC doesn't have to come across as a "prick".
Works for me.

Last time I checked loving to play for a man doesn't = no respect
Players have said they love him and that he is like a father figure to them. Most men in this world that love their fathers also respect them.
Don't think just because Miles doesn't embarrass players on national television that he is not also disciplining them behind closed doors. He is very much private with his players as you must know if you follow this team.

How many more days until the Bama game

Perhaps you should have a sit-down with the man and inform him of the error of his ways.

The fact that you've taken refuge in a one-liner ("Post less") proves you have nothing intelligent to say.

At least his was concise with his lack of intelligence. You, on the other hand...

Were 4 lines too taxing for you and him to read?

Maybe but since 07 a our ex coach is 62-12 and CLM is 60-15.
