Need a good recipe or any other brunch recipe that you find awesome...

Go to Food Network's site and pull up Tyler's Ultimate S and G's recipe. Sub andouille in for the bacon, and kick up the pepper and seasonings a bit. It works very well.

FYI, if you are ever in Austin and are craving shrimp and grits, Sandra Bullock's restaurant, Bess Bistro, does it right!

I did the one in the TD cookbook and it came out pretty good:

I really enjoy good shrimp n grits, but I tell ya, lots of places over charge the crap out of this dish.

Sorry bra. That's like a pavlovian response everytime I see the words "shrimp and grits"
I'll try and take it down a notch.

Shrimp & Grits sounds like a good combo but at the few places that I've tried them, they were disappointing...The last time I tried them was at City Cafe on O'neal and they were terrible. Both the shrimp and the grits were very bland.

You've gotta make it at home to get the most bang for your buck.
The $17 Sandra Bullock version could make about 10 servings at my house.

that looks really good, I can honestly say I've never had shrimp and grits. Hell, I'm not even sure I've ever cooked grits. I will try this though

Thanks. We were looking to do something different at the house for an away game. Looked it up on the TDFB recipe book. Clear instructions and really easy to make. Was worried about screwing up the grits but the came out great. Even had leftovers for breakfast the next morning.

Consider This One Modifications: Triple the garlic, double the red pepper, and add a 1/4 t or more of dried thyme, basil, and oregano. I may do a few other things, but it's been a while and I write nothing down.
The cooking procedure works well as written. This is a very good recipe as modified.

i'm sure we will. Mrs. Vedder, the one month old, and myself will be decked out LSU gear, cheering the tigers on from our living room.
