Quick ? On 1038 in Nola it says fsn right now. I can't remember if it used to always be that. Anyone know if that's new? I would think it would be fsno.

You mean on Cox, right?
Forget the abbreviations the companies use now or later. That is the station for Fox Sports New Orleans on Cox in New Orleans in High Definition.

The FSN stands for Fox Sports Network, it will always say thet even after the change.

I'm curious to know what "soft launch" means. A test launch before the real one, or are they going to change the name before tip off on the 31st?

It means they will act like Fox Sports New Orleans but not have the logo up and the like.

I've merely skimmed over all of these threads and articles . . . so forgive me for asking . . . but if I have Cox Cable in Orleans Parish (I assume the numbering is still different from Jefferson in some cases), where will I find Fox Sports New Orleans?

It will be the exact same channel as Fox sports southwest

I suppose that's Channel 38 in Orleans. shite, it looks like they've eliminated the morning Dan Patrick Show.

The Dan Patrick show is no longer on Fox Sports. It is likely headed to the NBC Sports network. This is unrelated to the FSNO switch, btw.

For Directv customers here is how distribution is broken down.
Louisiana- FS Southwest like usual, FSNO Channel 678
South Mississippi- FS South, SportsSouth like usual, FS Southwest Channel 676 and FSNO Channel 678 added FREE
South Alabama- FS South, SportsSouth like usual. MUST BUY Sports Pack to watch FSNO on Channel 678.
Florida Panhandle- FS Florida, Sun Sports like usual. MUST BUY Sports Pack to watch FSNO on Channel 678.
So South Mississippi gains FS Southwest for FS New Orleans. Mobile/Pensacola area needs to buy Sports Pack for Hornets games. Mobile area also needed to buy Sports Pack for Rays and Marlins Baseball on FS Florida and Sun Sports anyway so those customers like me shouldn't be affected.

I wonder when they will do the soft launch? Skipping forward on my DTV guide, there is nothing under FSNO for the next 2 weeks or so. Even opening night programming isn't listed yet.

there is gonna be two channels one for FSSW and one for FSNO?
