I'll ask again:
Is the backup qb going to come in and catch/block?

Maybe the that is his way of loosening up.
Maybe it is. If this is him loose then let's give "tight" a try.

Ok, so you know for a fact Mett does nothing in the film room and does not prepare one bit for games, and all he does is party and chase whores?
And FYI, if you were at LSU in 2007, Flynn lived at bars, I would say he had a pretty solid QB year.
That's super TERRIFIC about Flynn. I was not out and about in 2007, so I will trust you on this. But to your bigger point, does Mett strike you as the kind of guy who's killing it right now to get better? Flashback to Auburn game where he mouths "I don't have that play" to the sideline. Really? Coach Stud and then the backup QB who sends the play in got together and made up a play that's not in the playbook? Hmmm. If that's the problem, we got bigger fish to fry.

Ok, so... he is one of the many reasons.
But he should be benched.
Pot calling the ketle black.
You sir are the moron. You can't see the good Mett brings to the table. Instead you want to sit ONE of problems (as you stated). Do you know how well the 2nd string can play? Is it an upgrade?
Why not bench one of the other problems? That would be dumb because you obviously know for a fact which players are the best at each position. Obviously you should be hired and put in charge of personnel.

Dude, GTFO of here caring what kids wear. If your life is so consumed by LSU football that you get upset about what players wear, then idk what to tell you. Hell, half our guys dress like they're in a damn gang. Get over yourself. Your thread went sideways and now you're being a little bitch about it.

The typical day is grueling, and the next day doesn't get any easier or better. If these young men aren't allowed to have a little bit of fun or even allowed to have a personality then someone needs to start hiring therapists for the team. They would go insane.
Yeah, excellent point. Sort of makes you wonder how people on a team might view a guy who is giving a bit less of an effort than them, especially with the "typical" grueling days.

because I'd bet a sizable sum of money that if it were JJ behind center, you'd be calling for Mettenberger.
If JJ had the stats Mett did through his first five games, there would be his fan club wanting to erect a statue in front of the stadium.

TheDoc, your inquiries are so stupid and uninventive that nobody's going to bother.

None of us are at practice so I have no idea. But now you're reaching. Just face it. You don't know what you're talking about.

No it doesn't. Because you are right, if the team perceived that Mett didn't care or wasn't trying... We would know that because the players would be out for blood or mutiny. And right now I see nothing but every player on offense looking at how they need to get better.

And I guess you aren't going to bother acknowledging the stupidity of wanting to bench a qb who has passed for more yards and TD's than the previous qb's since 2007 in the first 6 games.
His receivers drop a lot of balls and his o-line is giving him very limited time to throw.
He is not perfect, but to say he's the problem is dishonest and very ignorant.

again, what's wrong with dressing up like Ron Burgundy? Everyone come see how good I look!

Exactly. This dude is reaching so far that his shoulder is about to pop out of place.

Asshat, it is not about what he wears. It's about what's on his mind. If playing dress up is what he thinks about on gameday, then there is a problem. If growing a silly moustache is what he thinks about then we have a problem. Stupid is as stupid does. No surprise that he lives his life like he plays it. What none of your morons have been able to point to is any actual evidence (or even the appearance of it) that Mett is not a complete assclown. And nobody can step up an explain why one of his teammates form last year called him out as a clown to the paper.

quote:I don't know if he does or doesn't. There are quite leaders and vocal leaders. Zach is not Honey Badger if that is what you are asking.
1. Is it "fine" that the quarterback has ZERO mobility? Yes, Lee wasn't mobile either and he did well.
2. Is it "fine" that when handed the keys to the offense against Towson, we struggle to consistently move the ball? See McNeese St, La Tech, etc from a few years ago.
3. Is it "fine" that from all outward appearances, including sideline interactions and his on field presence he appears to (a) have few friends on the team; (b) has the respect of none on the team; and (c) looks like he'd rather be downing shooters at Snorkel's? It has been documented that they want Kragthorpe with the QB's on the sideline, so that is why they are isolated. I doubt the rest of it, but don't know for sure. If he doesn't, so what. Lead by example.
4. Is it "fine" that on gameday, his decision-making tells him that it is a good idea to play dress up and post the picture to the world? He shaved the moustache. Next.
5. Is it "fine" that he has zero leadership skills, and certainly provides none to the offense?
Happy?

We had clowns in the locker room where I played. We called them clowns... not in a demeaning way. Teams usually enjoy having the guy that jokes around in the locker room and keeps people from getting too wound up.
And that was last year when he wasn't even playing. Do you know for a fact this years team would even still consider Mett a "clown"?
ETA: Oh, and that clown on my team was one of the best players and leaders on the team.

Consider all the drops:
Season
89-144
1174 yards
61.8%
8.15 per attempt
56 long
6 TD's
3 INT's
15 sacks
139.9 rating
Again, consider all the drops from this year that hit receivers in the HANDS
