Noticed his birthday was 10/16 when I looked up his rating. I guess Klinnmann wanted to let him play on his birthday?

Me and Alan Gordon share the same birthday?

If this were possible I hope we would have made Bruce Bradley our coach years ago.

I pray this is Jurgen's reasoning.

Why the frick does Gordon get the call over Wondo? This makes less sense than Jozy not getting called up.

I'm not angry about the roster, because half of the WTF call-ups won't play and are already above the caliber of anyone on Antigua and Guatemala. It is really strange not to have your two most in-form strikers available (Wondo and Jozy).
Why call in Alan Gordon when Wondo is basically the same type of player, but, you know, much better? Martin Vazquez must have told Jurgen about his awe inspiring performances for his awful Chivas USA team.
Good to see Kljestan finally get called in.

This. And this.
Possible reasoning on Gordo:

This actually makes a lot of sense in view of Klinsmann's comments in an interview last week. He said if he was faced with needing a last-minute goal in Antigua he would do what it takes, including throwing a lot of big bodies in the box. If you look at the Quakes goals, the last-minute goals are being scored by Gordon and Lenhart, not Wondo. Wondo is a finesse poacher - he doesn't sacrifice his body for a goal. Gordon will give his all up to the last second of injury time.

You know how you can avoid this?
Call in guys who can fricking score goals before we get to the 85th minute so we're not scrambling for a goal against fricking Antigua.

My guess is there's some reason we don't know about as to why Boyd didn't get called in, since Jurgen seems to like him. On the other hand, it seems fairly clear as to why Jozy didn't get called up.
My guess on the lineup:
-------------------------Gomez--------------------------
Dempsey------------------------------------------Donovan
------------------Bradley-----------Jones---------------
--------------------------Williams----------------------
Fabian------------Boca------------Cameron----------Dolo
I'm getting a bit tired of Jones (Klejstan in his place, or even Zusi would be fine with me), and would like to see Jozy involved, but that's not a bad team.

He's a Euro.
Be careful what you wish for.

I guess Donovan's injury this past Saturday wasn't that bad. That, or Klinsmann is just going to drop him from the roster, and not replace him with anyone.

Let's hire Pep, I'm sure he'll be up for it.

I would say Jurgen's setting himself up for a fall, but frankly it doesn't matter, if we don't qualify he's gone regardless of who he selects.
FWIW I think Herc has played really well for us lately. That's not a reason not to call up Jozy though, obviously.
Surprised no one's mentioned Torres being left out (unless I've missed something about him, injury-wise). I know he's one of the guys that this board seems to have infinite patience in, but really I don't think his play has made him a must selection.

Well because our other strikers, besides Herc, are scoring so many goals and creating so many chances.

Right bc giving him 30 minutes a game was really indicative of his capability
