I have defended Suarez through thick and thin (and will never believe that he was wrong in the Evra case) but this shite has got to stop. Some of the runs he makes require incredible balance and footwork so I know he can stay on his feet through contact. It's maddening to watch.

he was touched, but lost his balance on his own and decided to sell it. Bale just kinda falls w/ no contact lol

Won't stop until officials start giving calls even when attacker stays up through contact.
If the NFL only called holding when the defender was actually tackled to the ground, the defenders would start going down a lot easier.
My defense of players going down easy in soccer is that if they didn't, defenders would get away with too many fouls.

Quick question. Does Alex Feguson know that Wales is still part of Britain?

This is purely personal opinion but I think the issue with Suarez is that he feels, I sure do think, he is being victimized by the referees. Against West Brom in the first game numerous bad offside calls, multiple denied penalty calls that were penalties by a country mile, getting stamped on by Huth and the act going completely unpunished. It would be easy to get frustrated and decide to sell the referees one.
I do not condone it but that is my $0.02. Someone from the team, Carra, Stevie or Brendan, should talk to him and let him know that this doesn't help his cause.
And to all the mancs in their glorious naivety two words "Danny Welbeck".

His dive against Wigan earlier this season made me puke.

Serie A began suspending players for dives which lead to PKs. There were a couple of suspensions last year. Krasic had the most notable.
I think it has cut down on the ones as obvious as Bale's here but it has to completely obvious. They never seem to rule on any dive no matter how bad it looks where the player is in a crowd of defenders or has any slight contact.

The ones like Bale and others that are easily seen on replay should be disciplined.

Diving is cheating. If you don't punish cheating then people will cheat. That said, I agree with the above, that fouls where the player doesn't go down should be called more frequently (assuming there is no advantage).
One time I was playing men's league in BR and some guy went for the ball while I was dribbling in the box. He stomped on my foot (by accident), and because he was standing on my foot I couldn't take the extra touch on the ball that I needed in order to retain possession. The referee didn't call anything. Maybe it would have been a weak penalty, but I seriously thought about it after the play and reasoned that I probably should have flopped or jumped around holding my foot until the ref called something.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
Yes, it's ironic.

Yeah, I agree that a companion to cutting down on dives through suspensions has to be a conscious effort on the part of officials to reward players that try to play through fouls by actually calling the fouls when advantage is lost.
Also: One welcomed thing I've noticed in Serie A this year is that officials seem to be making a point of calling hand balls and awarding free kicks in the opposite direction when players go down under very minimal contact and intentionally grab/fall on the ball.
