No he's right handed. Thanks for the offer though. The barnett Banshee is 34" and the Bear Brave 3 is 26".

my son is right handed but left eye dominant so he shoot his rifle left handed.
he will have to do the same with a bow.. i may be interested in it.
Eta: thought it was a youth bow.. the PSE Nova is a full size bow, right?

Not necessarily, I left eye dominant, shoot guns left handed, but I learned on a right handed bow so thats how I shoot my bow.

That Bear Brave looks like a solid choice. I got mine this one after this piece of junk fell to pieces after about 20 shots. He was about 5 and didnt have a problem pulling it back. Also he has a recurve made out of pvc. If you are interested in it I will post a pic and give you dimensions but its shoots just as far as the compound does.

I got my 4 year old a little bow from Simmons that cost about 30 clams. It's not a compound bow but it's not a toy either. I can make it chunk an arrow about 60 yards. Him about 1/2 that. It's similar to the one in tenfoes picture. Perfect imho

My 8yr old has one of the ones like posted on the first page. Hard for him to handle it because of how long it is.

Here is that homemade recurve. You will have to excuse the gump decor but it is 1/2 inch pvc 41 inches long with a saw cut in the end for the string. Handle is pipe insulation and quiver is 1 1/2 x 12 long with a pipe cap on the end. Arrows are 3/8 dowel rod with a saw mark in the end to notch it and the tip is a pencil eraser. It might not look like much but it will fling an arrow

It's always been my opinion that you're more likely to waste your money buying cheap toys that inhibit their chance of success. Whether it's a BB gun, Fishing reel or a bow. Buy something that'll actually function properly and teach them how to use it and they'll enjoy it. Set them up to fail and they'll get frustrated and go play Xbox.
I bought my son a PSE Spider compound, sights and release at six. He started out shooting at balloons in my shop at about 5 yds, now he's 17 and prefers bow hunting over rifle hunting.
Also enjoy it while you can they grow up real fast.

Thanks for the tip. Thats why I was wanting to get something close to a real bow as possible without spending $250
