Guitar players, help with an amp.

So i've been playing on my Roland Micro Cube amp for long enough. Although i can't complain, it's a great starter amp, it's time for me to upgrade.
I've talked to a few people about their rigs and i've tried a few out myself and these are the 2 i'm looking at.
Vox AC15 $600 - Highly recommended from one of the best players i know. Haven't gotten to play on this one yet.
and
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe $700-$800 - Dabbled on this one for a little while at a store here in Lafayette. Great tone control and LOUD. A little expensive but it'll last me a life time.
What do you guys play on? I sport a Fender Strat (American of course) and a Boss ME-50 Multi-effects pedal. Just want something that will give me that extra edge with tone/quality.
Thanks in advance.

If you can't turn it up to 11, you don't want it.

Those are two very different amps, man. What kind of music?

I play metal and love my Line 6 head. Otherwise, I have played on a Vox and liked it as well.

For blues, I would go with the Fender.

Have played on a Vox before? My buddy that recommended it to me may be the best blues player i know personally, he's incredible.

I have played on a Vox and I own a Dr Z Carmen Ghia which has a very Vox-ish vibe to it. I also owned a Fender Bassman (though it is a different amp from yours). To me, the 6L6 power tubes just sing the blues better than the chimey EL84s.

American strat + deluxe =
The vox amps are noted for their clean sound. I own a strat and a prs custom 22 and the strat through the deluxe really is great, especially for blues, but there is a lot of versatility there. 3 channels is a plus as well.

look up Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughn's gig setup and you'll get an idea. I love the TS's through my hot rod. I can never have too much tubage for loud blues!!!

New Vox's are shite, don't buy one.
That said, new Fender's aren't like they used to be either. BUT, I have a Hot Rod Deluxe with a Screaming Eagle speaker and the tone, dynamics, response, and sheer volume are sick. When I play shows it's always mic'd so it's a rare opportunity to crank it up, but even with a full band at practice I don't put it above 3...it shakes the ground.
If you're playing in your room, I might also suggest the solid state Orange Crush series. I have a Crush 30 and it gets some pretty good tone. I picked mine up for $100 but you can get them for $250 new.

Orange Tiny Terror Combo
Price point makes it out of favor for me personally @ $900.
The Tiny Terror has few features and although wattage != volume output, it is only 15 watts.
What OP needs to decide is, is he playing for fun, or does he ACTUALLY need to get loud. Solid state Orange's are good alternative IMHO.

save up & get a used marshall bluesbreaker or 1974x.
they're much more expensive than the vox or fender. but they're worth every cent.... and they're the best looking amps ever made.
