Damn fine show. Just finished a rewatch. I think I like the ending more than the first time I saw it.
Why wasn't Ben ready to go with them? He must have spent many years doing good deeds with Hugo so I don't quite understand his reluctance to leave.
I remember not being thrilled with the last season, but this run through, I pretty much loved every minute.
I was more forgiving probably because of the scarcity of decent fantasy/sci-fi lately.
One nitpick. When Ben tried to blackmail the principal and he was willing to give up his job, but he was going to destroy Alex if Ben made that move.
Err.... if Ben was principal couldn't he have helped Alex and Ben still had the emails. The principal was in no position to do anything. He either did what Ben wanted or his wife would find out about his affair.
I know you can nitpick a million things, but that one bothered me because it made zero sense. I get that they were trying to show a side of Ben willing to make a sacrifice for Alex but the method was sloppy.
Farewell Lost. I miss you!

I really didn't like the episodes I watched in the first season of Fringe, but given the scarcity, I might try again.

He needs to make amends with his daughter, and he hadn't done that yet. Ben did probably the most screwed up act in the series with that action, and he still has to atone for it.

That's really not the point. The point is in this life Ben chose Alex over his own happiness and well being, unlike what he did in life. Plus its the afterlife where things are a bit more fluid and don't have to completely make sense compared to the real world.

Yeah, I really liked the final season. I'd put it next to the first season as being the best season. They wrapped up everything nicely. The only thing they really failed on that season was that flashback episode of Jacob and MIB's origin and Sayid's arc as a whole. Sayid didn't remotely atone for his actions and should have been even more scared than Ben was to enter that church.

I agree with your point about Sayid.

It's no SGU or Terra Nova, but I think you'll like it.

i dont know what episodes you watched but if you are into sci-fi you definitely need to give fringe a shot. its been so long since i watched season 1 i dont remember too much about it but i dont think i really got into it until late season 1. regardless right now it is my favorite show on tv the story arc and writing is some of the best to ever exist. you wont be disappointed.
also supernatural is another good one last 2 seasons have been meh but 1-5 are epic

LOST will forever have a special/unique place in my heart. From what I could tell from the interaction on this and many other forums, LOST was the first TV show to have such a large internet following discussing, extrapolating, conjecturing about every minute aspect of the show. It was an magically engaging experience that I will never forget. I still consider the finale to be the best ever to date. It was perfect ending to an at times flawed but wondeful TV series.

Just watched finished Lost the other day. I missed the original airings and my uncle had all 6 seasons. Alex told Ben that she wanted to get into an ivy league school maybe Yale? I can't remember. She needed a reference letter, but was only good from someone who attended the school. The principal was the only alum that she knew who could write the letter.

Well, Ben has now reached the point where he can personally make amends with his daughter. I'm sure Ben dedicated his life from that point onward to pay for his past mistakes, but he still can't forgive himself for it. He actually openly says that he'll never be able to forgive himself for that action in particular.

I just got into Fringe last week. I'm on season four. Olivia does it for me.

Not sure why you guys are having a tough time with this.
