If it isn't legal in the NCAA then it doesn't matter.
There is no Football but LSU Football.

Saw Notre Dame High School of Crowley do it in 2009 in the Quaterfinalls.

We used to practice it every thursday during situation when i was in high school. Attempted a couple in games when I played as well. We would set up our punt return with three men back to field the kick. Once the kick is successfully fair caught, the kickoff team would come out and set up. The kicker was permitted to use his kickoff tee. No one could move until the ball was kicked.
Interesting that no one else knows much about it. We had a chance to do this once at the current school I coach at but no one knows what the heck the free kick is.

NFL kickers could make it from the 35-40 consistently.
Why would you catch a punt then potentially waste your entire drive by kicking a fg instead of trying for a td? If you miss, the other team get's the ball back. Again, the only time you will ever see this is at the end of the first or second half.

It's the only time you are allowed to do this in high school football. The last timed play must be the punt that was successfully fair caught. I don't know what the NFL ruling is and I'm not gonna waste my time looking for it or reading that article though.

People would do it pretty often at the end of half and game if they could use a tee.
Now you never see it. My point was that it would be common in that situation.
Chill the frick out, bromosexual.

You are still missing the entire point, it is limited by the number of punts teams receive with less than 10 seconds left in either half. Doing it any other time doesn't really make any sense. The reason you don't see it is because teams rarely get the chance. Adding a tee to the equation will not change this.

I remember sometime back in the late 1960's a NFL team actually won a game on the last play using a free kick after a fair catch....

MY point is that since they would theoretically be able to kick the ball from the 35 or even 30 on a windy day they will have more oppourtunities to do it. Currently you have to be at midfield to have even a slight chance. That's 20 yards difference.
You aren't getting my point, this is why I never post on the rant.

I get your point, but it is irrelevant.
You are not getting MY point, which IS the reason you don't see it happen often. Teams simply don't receive punts within 5 or so seconds before the end of the half. When was the last time you saw a team catch a punt with only enough time left for one play? It just doesn't happen.
Take your example. If a team received a punt on their own 35 with about 10 seconds left to play, attempted and missed the kick, it would return to the ball to the other team at the spot of the kick. It would be giving the other team a free shot at points.
I understand this is hard for you to follow, but you will only see a fair catch kick happen with around 5 seconds left in the half, and that never happens.

I didn't think about this.

I'm sure that faith is all but dissipated by now.
