I did not doubt the NINERS. I still doubted one Niner. Alex Smith. But my opinion is changing.
The Niners only got better this offseason. I thought there was a chance for Smith to go in the tank. That appears less likely.

I remember going to Saints games back in the NFC West days and the 49ers always crushing us. At least back then I respected them with all time.players in Joe Montana,Steve Young,and arguably the greatest ever in Jerry Rice.
Now days I like Randy Moss but frick the rest of that team.

I go to ULL, but by no means do I hate LSU. I support LSU football and ULL. I care about the Saints much, much more than both though, and it's been that way since I started watching football as a kid.
I do think Lafayette is a better town though, just an opinion. Better music and bar scene.
to the OP:
The 49ers are a very good team, but this is kind of an unnecessary thread. It is one game. The Saints, even after 5 turnovers, nearly won at Candlestick. Was am absolutely shitty day for us, and nearly tied this one. Both are talented teams. Let's wait a few weeks before jumping to conclusions.

Only surprising bit was how much they struggled with Seattle and the Rams. I figured that division was a complete cake walk for them.
Headed into the season I didn't think their defense would be as dominant, I have no clue how close they finished though.
