but this is flat out false.
Not sure how old you are, But the Saints have been through WAY more than ANY franchise in history. All those years without a winning record and then The Saints tease the fans with a few playoff berths just to fail.

Are you talking about TV ratings or a fanbase??????
TV
quote:
Fanbase wise its college football. TV ratings its the NFL and THAT is not even close.
In your opinion, it is CF. Not in mine. SHoot, if we are talking fanbases, many would argue HS football has the better fanbase. Not me, but some will. It's an opinion, which is what this thread is about. If it were simply TV ratings, the thread would be over with one or two posts of objective data--although some of the morons would offer excuses.
OH, what happened to your cohort who loves to flame?

As far as fanbase. Its LSU over the Saints, And THAT is not even close. Just like in L.A.The Trojans are way more supported than ANY NFL team. Even If They had an NFL team.

Cleveland says hi. They even lost their team for awhile.

REALLY? Cleveland ruled the NFL in the 50's and 60's. From the 1970's and beyond they have suffered some, But won playoff games on a regular basis. Way more to cheer for than the Saints had.

Not according to the people. NFL TV ratings far far far outweigh CF TV ratings. Google it and you wil be surprised. FRick, the BCS CG game barely keeps up with a Monday night football game. BCS bowl games don't even keep up with NFL regular season games on TV. ANY way you slice it, the ratings in the NFL are much better and even in the south.
Once again, your ignorance comes out! That is because you Keliforbia fruits, Vinnie and Louie in Jersey and NYC, the New England area northerners have no real college football, so you dont watch it!
IN THE SOUTH, ratings for college football are higher. Do you understand? YOU ARE IN KELIFORNIA, so you have no clue! Now go watch your Los Angeles team play...wait you dont have one, because people there do not care.

WTF? At one point they couldn't even sell out a playoff game. Close to a blackout. I think it was that RAMS playoff game
I am almosy positive that you are wrong about this. they sold out and even sold standing room only tickets for this game.

Objective data says different.
Example. The iron bowl gets about 10-12 million. Your average NFL games, even with multiple in is 18-20 million. SEC (south) averages 4 million or so.
ANd aGain, I am right here in southern Louisiana

Not really. See LSU pre-2003. Saints fan have are arguably been the most loyal in the NFL.
Yeah that's right, LSU football (and their fans) had no tradition pre-2003...

To be fair, no one implied that.

My bad, they had to get TWO extensions to sell out a playoff game in a DOME.
Here's the link
LINK
quote:
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints beat yesterday's league-imposed deadline- in Philadelphia's case, with some help from Fox television - ensuring that fans without tickets will be able to watch the telecasts.
quote:
After getting two extensions of the N.F.L. blackout deadline, the Saints announced yesterday morning that today's game against the Rams was sold out and the black-out lifted.
ETA: I can remember a SAINTS player even bought some tickets to help the blackout be lifted. Trying to find the link.lol. Funny shite.
