Todays linebackers are a hybrid. They are more built for speed, thus to cover tight ends, backs out of the backfield etc. Back in the day linebackers were fast linemen, able to clog holes, and blitz when called to. Now its a totally different position. Just like defensive end. Speed and quickness over size.

Here's a good one:
Which LSU LB returned punts?

Yea Mike was a beast. I actually know him personally so I am a little bias. LSU was terrible then but he was really good. Ended up quiting the team before his senior year. It is amazing how far the medical field has come and what you can rehab from now compared to then.

I think when Daub steps on campus he will become the next slobber-knocker. When you watch film on this young man you a monster. He will be great in Purple and Gold.

It is hard to believe that he is only a sophmore in those films!! I have never seen a sophmore play like that. Please Please Please don't change your mind Mr Daub

both Mike Anderson & Warren Capone were big hitters.....George Bevan was no slouch either
I saw all three play in person. The hardest hitter of the bunch was Mike Anderson. He was a beast and hit like a locomotive! Yes, he was a middle LB, as, I believe were Bevan and Capone. They were all very good in their day!
