This is what i thought. I don't know much about scotch.

Will try it again after i get my scotish legs.

It takes time. I understood scotch before I liked it oddly enough. And feel free to message if interested in recommendations. From the looks of it u prefer a scotch with more oak tones and milder peat, and obviously not cask strength bottlings from your notes. Balvenie is a good grower brand with some diversity within their bottlings. Lagavulin is personally one of my favorites. Just like wine, to each their own.
