Has no one asked themselves why Tyrion looks so different from the rest of the Lannisters? Doesnt GRRM bring out the bloodline history several times to point out that all Lannisters have blond hair and blue eyes? Yet Tyrion has dark hair and violet eyes in the book? Can it be possible that Tyrion was actually the mad kings son, conceived through a rape or maybe an illicit affair? Could that be big reason Tywin took his family away from kings landing and kept them at casterly rock and why Tywin betrayed the mad king?
In short.... no I don't buy it.
There are many instances of Targaryen's being born with black hair. Just because it proved true with the baratheon children doesn't mean we have to start looking at hair color all over the place.
Tyrion is a dwarf I think its obvious some genetic defects took place in him, I think we can overlook the eyes and hair.

Yeah those are bad things that have happened but they do still seem to get out of sticky situations. And when I say lannisters I always tend to think of cersei, Jaime and tyrion so that's really who I was thinking of whenever I said that.
And the guy above me said tyrion had dark hair. I swore I remember reading he had light hair? Regardless I don't think tyrion is anything but a lannister considering in a lot of ways he has tywin made over.

Yeah I didn't think he had dark hair.

Tyrion has blonde hair with mismatched green and black eyes. Lannisters are blonde haired and green eyed.

Tyrion's eyes and hair do make me suspicious of his parentage. I'm not sold that he is a Targ, but he sure does act like one. He reminds me more of Rhaegar than Tywin.
I'm also suspicious of Jon being a Targ since he doesn't have any Targ features.
But I'm sure that GRRM wrote them that way for us to wonder about these things. He meant to give us just a few clues and then warp our brains with who-knows-how-many red herrings.

Just because most have it doesn't mean all have it. Like cotton said most targs had violet eyes and all that but some didn't.

Nah man, IMO he acts like tywin wholeheartedly. And as far as Jon goes, there have been plenty of dark haired targs. I was reading dunk and egg the other day and plenty of them didn't have any special features.

I suggest you look up Baelor Breakspear. He was heir to the throne yet looked Dornish.

There is certainly a chance of it but I just don't buy it.

Yeah I agree there's a chance but I'd be very surprised if he isn't truly a lannister.

I wont be too surprised but I will be very disappointed. Thats just entirely too many "hidden/secret babies"

Oh boy. Now you're onto some crackpipe theories.
My baby swap theory:
Rhaegar's Aegon was swapped with a Dayne during Robert's War. The real Aegon was hidden by Arthur Dayne in Dorne.
The Dayne baby in King's Landing was swapped by Varys just prior to the sack. That kid ended up being Young Griff (aka The Murmmer's Dragon).
The hidden Targ in Dorne turns out to be Darkstar.

Maybe I should have started a different Crackpipe Theories thread?

Huuuhhhh, so that would mean there were two babies at the Tower of Joy? That would better explain the presence of three Kingsguard. I remember reading an excerpt from "Thus sayeth Martin" that the ToJ scene was more complicated than we all think. But beyond R+L=J all I could come up with was that maybe Dayne killed himself to let Ned take over the protection of Jon. But if there were two babies. . ., and Dayne killed himself after Ned swore to deliver Aegon to Dorne. . .
No evidence but I think its a good fit.

The Darkstar = Aegon VI is actually my favorite theory of all.
I just love the idea of a badass Targaryen wreaking havoc all over Westeros.
Especially if Darkstar also becomes Sword of the Morning.

Of course Tyrion is going to be like Tywin, he spent his whole life trying to get Tywin to respect him. Also it would make Tyrion innocent of be a kinslayer. Doesnt the book consider a kinslayer one of the vilest, if not the vilest, person in the land?

Would the Martells know? The Danes are Dornish but how close are they? (Oberyn seemed the type to sniff out a big secret though.)
