Build a wall around Penn State

Eh...hard for them to NOT feel like that at this point. I disagree with the sanctions, as do many of the fans and students.
I think people are confusing that with supporting child molestation.
Paterno obviously fricked up...big time...but that doesn't change the fact that teams he coached still won games.
That said, the sign is one thing, I would take that doll down though.

I don't think they did enough to PSU. They should have killed the program. PSU folks get what they deserved as they ceded power to JoePa and his group of henchmen (Spanier, Schultz, and Curley). Arrogance quite often accompanies power and the use of that power must be accompanied by a moral choice. These folks were morally bankrupt in how they handled Sandusky, the allegations and the impact of their inaction (actions) upon these innocent kids is simply tragic. I couldn't care any less about PSU football and the fact that they will "suffer." The sign in the photo was likely crafted by some PSU cult member (aka student).

No, they are saying the coach that won all those games harbored a child rapist and allowed years of abuse to go on at HIS campus with all the Penn State leaders sticking their heads in the sand.

That's exactly how that city, community, and school have come off this entire time

Players win games. if I played for one of those Penn State Big Ten Championship teams, I am pretty upset that I can't show my kids what we did in the record books because of some adults who really screwed us over.

I think I will go with The World in this match up. Penn State's lack of depth is going to hurt them.

Collateral damage. There is no other way to punish the school.

stripping JoePa of the wins would have sufficed. I sort of agree with what you're saying. But its not like Penn St won THAT much from 1998 to now.

The current students have nothing to do with it.
They are paying the price for what Paterno, Spanier, Sandusky, etc did. The higher-ups should be hung out to dry, or hung. But the students have a right to feel upset, maybe not TOO much at the sanctions, as opposed to the fact that this is all going down because their university leaders, who have no problem raising fees on all things considered, covered it up.
And it makes anybody affiliated with the university at this point look bad.

Also...Paterno did this becasue he is a self serving a-hole who thought being the winningest coach in college football was more important than the safety of children.
frick him and frick the leadership at Penn State. They should have recieved the death penalty in my opinion and had the sanctions to follow two seasons with no football.

Yeah. I understand the desire to wipe his name out of the record books. But then you could go look at shady shite that went down in ANY sport with ANY athlete or coach.
That said, I just sympathize with the players who played under him during those years and have some Big Ten rings/hardware. You can't walk into the stadium and see those years up there. It's like you didn't really exist at that time.

It's sad that in these times everyone has to make themselves into a victim, powerless against "the other".
Pitiful actually.

Exactly. At the time this started to go down, I thought the timing was all too coincidental...the week after the Illinois win. Now, it all makes sense.

And it makes anybody affiliated with the university at this point look bad
1. empathetic towards the victims
2. embarrassed to be affiliated with such a corrupt institution
3. they resolve to do what is right and that includes changing the cult like culture of the ENTIRE COMMUNITY
no one has said this crap. Instead they are rallying around some perverted thought that the entire school/community is the victim in this whole thing
