Is LSU getting shut down in the metro New Orleans area?

Only 1 commitment from New Orleans and that kid is from Slidell. LSU's success has been built on its ability to lock down the New Orleans metro area and right now what I am seeing is that not only have we not locked down New Orleans but we are close to striking out on our homegrown talent. Tulane is really making in-roads right now and we need to be aware of what is going on in our backyard. The last time we wiffed this bad was when Gerry Dinardo went looking for every kid under the Sun in Texas and LSU went belly up.

What 2013 recruits are we missing out on in New Orleans?

what kid from NOLA has an offer right now that LSU has missed out on for the 2013 class?

The TE who's going to Miami LSU did not target. The DB going to A&M LSU did not target. The OL from Brother Martin who's going to FSU that LSU did not target.
No, I wouldn't say this is the year to complain about LSU recruiting in New Orleans.

Dobard is a guy who LSU offered i believe, but im pretty sure they felt that smith was a better prospect.
so in that regard, dobard to Miami doesn't hurt LSU.

I would be more impressed if this thread was about the OOS recruits LSU is getting.

LSU has missed out of 0 recruits out of the NO area so far. Falkins, Ellis not offered, Marina not offered yet. If Dobard was offered, it probably wasn't committable. Jefferson is still on the market. LSU has missed out of 0 recruits that I would want to LSU.
Oh, and for the record, trying to compare New Orleans football pre-Katrina and post Katrina is probably a waste of time. New Orleans probably will never have the number of recruits they used to have before their population was reduced dramatically by Katrina. Last I saw, NO was still well below the pre-Katrina population.

LSU had strong interest in Jordan Batiste, Darion Monroe, Kedrick Banks, and Lorenzo Doss. Those four were definitely recruited by LSU. Frank Wilson was on Banks hard.

Never heard of any of those, never saw any of them on any LSU recruiting list, and never saw any of them mentioned in any story by any service.

The hell? Monroe? You really think if we wanted Monroe he wouldn't be at LSU?

interest is not the same as offering.
and jesus dude, are you serious about Tulane becoming a threat to LSU for the elite prospects of LA? those 4 you mentioned were not elite prospects.
They may and probably will turn out to be good to great for Tulane, but they weren't elite.
