John Canzano: No. 10 (Hornets): Williams loves Austin Rivers but feels forced to go with Tyler Zeller or Drummond, if he's available. #nbadraft about 16 minutes ago

I don't know who John Canzano is.

I'm sure Monty doesn't mind telling our draft plans to a writer for all the world to know. Smokescreen is a smokescreen

I guess he covered him when he was with the Blazers.

Reporter: Hey Monty, what your thoughts going into tonight?

MW: Let me tell you, I love Austin Rivers.

Reporter: Awesome. I know a lot of people do.

MW: But I feel forced to take a Center. I must do it.

Reporter: Interesting. Please tell me more.

MW: Here's our draft board. I hope you like it.

Reporter: Thanks for this, anything else?

MW: Here's the players we are going after in FA. I wet the bed at night. I once murdered a man in 1989 and buried him in the desert. I'm wearing woman's underwear.

Reporter: Super.

Got to make the Blzers think we are serious about taking a C like Zeller at 10 so they can take him at 6 and Lillard falls to us at 10.

Do head coaches always make the final draft decisions?

I was under the impression that was Dell's job

Depends on the organization.

A GM may make the picks but a coach would get a lot of input based on who will fit the system they're trying to run.

I'm not sure how much say Monty has in personnel moves overall. I'm sure he gets input, but just because he feels "Forced" to do it, doesn't mean Demps or Benson or anyone else gives a good damn.

This. We will see more rumors today than any other day.

I think they are going big unless a trade happens. If Rivers is there, they might get a mid lotto team to bite and still get Zeller/Leonard plus an extra pick.

"Hey, Oregon reporter guy...it's Monty. Look, we feel like we just HAVE to take a center at 10. So if that team you cover - the Blazers - takes Lillard at 6, they probably won't get a center at 11. They may want to grab Drummond at 6 and let Lillard slide. But don't tell anyone. WINK"
