Just have to ask why you want thin cut pieces? It is usually all batter.
Maybe just fry some yourself and you can do test strips and cut it to your desired level, and probably make it better than any restaraunt.

Why do people always seem to say crap like this? He apparantly doesn't want to cook the damn fish himself or he would have asked for tips on cooking fish.

Why would someone want to go pay money for a restaraunt to get thin fried catfish?
Make the drive to Hammond on second thought. Cate street seafood station has very thin cut catfish and it aint worth a shite. Perhaps you will love it.

I love thin cut. Maybe not as thin as Meddendorfs, but it is def. better on the thin cut side of things.
Hate the crap that most places serve that appears to be a pre-breaded big filet that they don't even cook long enough.

Well yeah. I just honestly can't think of any place that goes out of their way to make it thin besides the cate street place and it was terrible. I just say go to Mike Andersons. Most likely it will be delicious. Louisiana Lagniappe also has good fried fish.
Although with Louisiana Lagniappe, I have to be a douche again and just recommend not getting fried and get the fish en pappillote.

Not sure how thin you want it (Middendorf's fish "chips" or just not Long John Silver's hunks), but Crawfords Two on Staring is good.

Doubtful.

I can't imagine anyone going to Lagniappe and getting fried fish.
ETA: George's does a decent job, and gives a huge quantity. I haven't had it in quite some time, but it's better than most things there.

The best I've had in recent memory was at Sphars on Hwy 90 near Des Almons (SP).

If you just want that then crawfords 2 on starring/Essen has a buffet. Never been but had breakfast there and saw it.

Mikes went down for a little while, but since we have been back service was back doing well and the food was great.

frick those asshats that think they are better than cat fish. If it is farmed and prepared properly then it is a great tasting fish.

When I was in school at LSU I always wanted fried catfish that I could just call in or go pickup that wasn't$ 12 to $15 from a sit down restaurant. Just some fish house or something cheap but with good fried plates catfish shrimp ect.
