i know in years past 3rd base dugout was considered home . just wondering if it is still that way

I would guess it would be 3rd like it has been in years past. Even though it's at LSU, this game is considered a nuetral site game.

1B. Home team will occupy the 1B dugout.

That's how it was in Hoover last week, which I would think follows NCAA Tourney procedure.
Home team was on 1st base side and visiting team on 3rd base side.
Home team was on 1st base side and visiting team on 3rd base side.

Correct. Only time LSU occupies the 3B dugout is when they are the "visiting" team. Which could occur on Sunday.
For reference. LSU vs. Southern in the regional in 2009. LSU is the Home Team.
Then Sunday, LSU was the visitor against Minnesota. Notice they are in the Home (1B dugout)

LINK to tournament manual.
Scroll down to page 11, and it will tell you how "home" team is determined, and that "During the pre-championship meeting for the regional or super regional, the host institution (eta: that is, LSU) must designate whether the first base or third base dugout will be the home team dugout for the entire tournament."
Hope this helps.

I told you the new Box would never be ready in time. No right field bleachers.
