Also need another CB and Safety to sign IMO.

I think/hope Morgan wins the 5th W.R. spot.

you mean you dont like being an injury away in a key position from being in trouble...they have like 6 rookie cb's in camp...one is sure to turn out to be a gem hopefully...we tend to always find one...we also have amaya and the terrorist guy playing safety(joke).

Replace Arrington with Morgan and I'll agree with your WRs...

Just occurred to me...
If we can use Martez Wilson at DE full time, that might allow us to release one of the vet DEs on the roster, which would free up cap space, which can be used for another player.

Really thin at CB and Big Sed needs to step the frick up this year.
Other than that I agree that (on paper) this is the best Saints team ever.
I am very concerned about Joe Vitt having the authority to make key came decisions (when to challenge, go for it, take timeouts, etc) and would much rather have Carmichael (young, modern, progressive Payton protege) making those calls. But I think that Spagz and Carmichael together with Brees can keep this running.

Who do you think is the best Saints team (on the field) ever?

yeahh i agree with that completely...i think vitt should be in charge of running the show during the week...but sundays should be carmichael or spagz...i think vitt is the type to make some mistakes in the game...im not use to our coach costing us the game and he seems like the type that may be there was a reason he has only been a position coach for as long as he has.

+1. I could totally see Vitt screwing up (using the timeout on the wrong side of the 2 minute warning, not realizing that if you've got challenges left late in the game you may as well challenge a controversial play instead of simply taking a timeout, pulling a Caldwell and trying a 52 yard field goal instead of going for it on 4th and 2, etc). These situations arise more often than not in close games and usually the "hip" coaches (Belichek, Payton, Whisenhunt, etc) win the day and the dumbasses (Denny Green, Andy Reid, Brad Childress) find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Definitely 2009 we had a new defense that opposing offenses hadn't figured out yet, a veteran safety in the last great year of his career, and a perfect mix of power running and west coast passing coupled with the best playcalling job of Payton's career.
Oh, and GREAT luck with injuries.
I honestly believe that if we hadn't lost our RB's in 2010 (coupled with Jenkins) we'd have beaten Seattle and Chicago and hosted the NFCCG. And I honestly believe that if we don't lose Ingram and PT for the playoffs last year we win the Super Bowl (or if Payton doesn't get his knee blown out we win the Tampa Bay game and have the #2 seed and slaughter the Niners in the Dome and same deal - Super Bowl).

I also think this. I believe that Morgan gets that spot, and Arrington is gone this year. He has not panned out. I also think that Andy Tanner will get a shot, but I think that Morgan gets the slot. From what I understand, the organization is pretty high on Tanner, but take that for what it's worth!

I certainly hope that losing payton doesnt have anything to do with winning a game like tampa. Because if it does we are going to be fricked this year.

This past season was the best Saints team of all time IMO, just fell short. The Superbowl season was amazing, might not ever be touched, but 09 had more lucky breaks than anything. The way the team has shaped, it has allowed for a more dynamic offense, and a team much harder to scheme against. This is some historical shite we are witnessing.
On paper, yes, this team looks outstanding. I am very excited. Could be even better offensively, which doesn't even seem possible.

Having Olin Kruetz's weak arse thrown into the backfield was why. We couldn't run on Tampa in that game, and everyone runs on Tampa.

Right now he's mainly just a pass rusher, not a full time DE.

Ellis will be a 27 year old 4 year veteran this season.
Lot if guys can blow up any year or have just 1 unbelievable career season but I'm not expecting anything more than what he has given the team the previous 4 years. Not a lot of pass rush, and bad run support
