It's been years since i've done any serious downloading--yes, i'm old as dirt; want it legal, want it cheap. Thanks.

Amazon usually has some great deals on downloads for albums. So does google music.
I rarely download any more with Spotify. If you don't have it, get it. You can stream music for free from your computer, or you can get a subscription for $8 a month for unlimited access from your PC or mobile device.

Amazon > iTunes. Amazon is cheaper but the interface to download is clunky and a pain the arse, one song at a time. Haven't tried Google music yet, will have to look at it.

don't use torrentz. use Kazaa or Morpheus. That's what I use.

Same here. My system now is to buy used CD's off of Amazon. They tend to be pretty cheap since I'm not interested in most newer music. Then I rip them to my computer(s) and have the CD for a backup. Cave man level of technology but it works for me.

These still exist? These were the worst when it came to spyware and viruses.

jk, there is a mozilla firefox plugin called download helper which you can find by googling "download helper" and once you install it, you will be able to download any song that you stream on the internet. its awesome

I stream on spotify and if it's something I want a hard copy of I'll buy it from amazon.com.
