The Rangers and Kinsler have agreed to a 5 year $75 million extension. Awesome.

make a better title

Do you think he moves to the corner outfield when Jurickson Profar comes up? He's a very good player but his numbers wouldn't look nearly as gaudy stacked up against other LF or RF players

it's not about making me happy...learn how to start a topic...and that is a proper title

LF of the future
Solid deal for both sides.

No. He will move to DH, super utility. No reason to put an older Kinsler in the outfield which would increase his injury risk.

And thank you title police.

True. I could see him being in a similar role to Michael Young. Either way he's a good player and deserves to get paid.

move Andrus to CF

Am I missing something? Did Kinsler suddenly become a mediocre 2nd baseman defensively?

I believe one of Profar or Andrus will be traded. Elvis is way too good defensively at SS to put out in CF. And they say Profar might be better at defense then Elvis.

Nope, but he is somewhat injury prone and with Elvis and Profar (if they are both kept) there would be no need to keep him at 2nd past 32-33 years old.

Interesting.

I was going to say the same thing about Andrus. From what I've seen of the Rangers Andrus looks like a superb SS. They should try to deal Profar with other lower tier prospects for pitching.

I'd have to imagine if they tried to do that with Pedroia, someone would have half a bat stuck in their stomach.

The main difference is their durability. Also, I'm not caught up on the Red Sox prospects but Jurickson Profar is ranked 7th in the top 100 prospects by BA. So, Elvis could move to 2nd and Profar to short with Ian taking over MY's role.

We've got MLB starting talent, but not really a ton of star power.
