With the many historical battles in new Orleans we could be "the generals." I think it would be one of the easiest ideas to brand.
I also like the idea of using the new Orleans Cajuns! That is immediate branding and local buy in.

Jean Lafitte was a privateer in the war of 1812 if I remember correctly, so the history is there.
