Does anyone know if or how the appeal process works for NFL punishments, or is it just accept the letter of the Goodell Law and don't ask questions?

I think the only option is to take it to the courts.

Someone tweeted that Goodell is judge, jury, and executioner.
I guess they could appeal to him, but it would take an act of God to change his mind on the matter.
I've read a few things too saying that Goodell is extremely pissed that the league was lied to this whole time. I wonder if it might benefit to go to him once he's "calmed down".

Not sure of the process, but I know Sean Payton and company would be appealing to Goodell.

I don't know how that could be legal. Even convicted killers have an appeal process.

I know that Ben Roethlisberger had his 6 game "accused of rape" suspension reduced to 4 games without an appeal. Not sure if the process varies for players vs management though...

All but the most ignorant NFL fans and most of the media have reacted with outrage at the extremity of this ruling. If the Saints appeal, Goodell may be able to save a little face by reducing the total penalty to something that is more reasonable. If there is on thing that Roger understands is his image.

If this is true. That is way too much power vested in one individual. If goodell had any really wanted to make the NFL about integrity, he would give up some of that power.
Appeals process needs to be a committee, not one person, much less the same person who handed down the punishments.

The owners gave Goodell the power to rule on team violations such as these. The nature of these infractions are not subject to an appeal. Only the owners can vote to change Goodell's authority. But that would not affect the decisions he has made while this authority was in effect. Like it or not, it is a done deal and we need to move forward. I think it sucks for our loyal fans and hurts our chances of home field advantage in the Super Bowl. Goodell stepped way over the line to make a point. I do believe that every team should be investigated for the same infraactions and be dealt with in a similar manner. The hypocrites throughout the NFL need to come out of the closet and man up for their own bounties. IMHO

no appeal process, Goodell is judge, jury and executioner.
Oh they can ask him but he doesn't even have to listen if he doesn't want to and SP has no recourse.

The Owners could wind up regretting this if Goodell keeps this up. He's already pissed of a few owners already in Jerry Jones, Al Davis, Tom Benson and a few others I can't remember.
Commish vs. Owners usually does not end well for the commish.
