Lil choupique says no need for potato.....with lead pellets...

The spray I use doesn't kill the bugs. It's just supposed to make grass that they root around in very unappealing.
They're wild ducks.
Dylan, if you could see the subdivision sign, that means the ducks were in transit from my yard. Probably stuffed from everything they dug out and ate.
Spen, you really believe some colored paper will scare them off? Sounds iffy, but I guess I don't have anything to lose.

Had a friend get rid of about twenty in north monroe with my pellet rifle late at night. That or a jack russell.

That is what USDA Wildlife Services uses for geese. It works for them.
They also have a motorized boat that they use to chase them off. Maybe you need a remote controlled car? Every time they come on your lawn, chase them off with the car.

So I'd tie them to the fence in different areas. Is it that simple? I've only got one tree in the back yard.

Did you say that you put up some fishing line? you could tie it to that, or to the posts that you strung the line on.

The fishing line is at the bottom of the fence. I guess I could easily tie them to the top. I'll have to look into it if the fishing line doesn't work.

The guy that said bottle rockets was also spot on. Firecrackers would work too. Not sure if that is ok in your neighborhook or not though.

All of those would work for about 15 minutes, then they come right back. That's the whole point. I need something to keep them out of the yard while I'm at work all day.

I used to use string about a foot off of the ground run between stakes to keep geese out of my yard. Geese wouldn't step over it and wouldn't duck (no pun intended) to go under it. I would think running it a little lower would work for ducks.

Well the fishing line didn't work. They go right under it. I might have to try the string idea but I just don't see anything being tight enough to keep them from getting in. This is aggravating.
