Kevin Wagner's 24 LSU Championship Rings Stolen! Sad story

Link below, some scum (all thieves are scum) stole Kevin Wagner's LSU ring collection. He is a long time LSU employee, mostly on the broadcast team. I have met him, good guy, and works hard behind the scenes for what we all love-LSU sports. In any case, if anyone gets offered an LSU ring with "Wagner" on the side, call the police or better yet, beat the seller to a pulp.

Wagner is one of the funniest guys I've ever met. He and John Schebee.

I don't know how I'd feel if I was him. That sucks tremendously.

Just stinks, Kevin is a great guy and one of the true "behind the scenes guys" who gives so many hours to LSU. Sure it is his job, but he does it well for many years. And as for the poster who said it is part his fault, I could not disagree more...it is NEVER your fault when somebody else steals from you because they are too lazy to earn it themselves.

That is a shame. Hope they catch the thugs and return his rings.

That guy (the thief) deserves to be thrown into Mike's habitat right around feeding time.

Great idea, put 'em in the cage! I got sick just reading the story, hopefully he gets them back.

Thrown in unconscious and after Mike has not eaten for a week.

If he didn't realize the home had been broken into, & the rings weren't displayed, then chances are, its an inside job. Someone knew they were there.
Just my $0.02...

No doubt. It sounds like they went directly for the rings if there wasn't sign of entry prior to the bedroom. He may not display them, but I get the feeling he shows them off.
As for partially his fault, if you don't have an alarm system, you really should get a safe deposit box for the thousands and thousands in jewelry laying around. Hell, I worry about 3 guitars and a handgun.

Exactly. Maybe he had a facebook picture or someone he showed at a party.

Well, let's see, they were stolen two months ago, which puts it around the Holidays.
I'm guessing the Wagner's may have thrown a Holiday Party or had family & friends over. Start there first.

This is probably true. The rings were probably dismantled for the value of the gold and gemstones.
Very, very sad.

Damn that was a fantastic collection. So sorry it was stolen.

It is sad! Kevin is my neighbor and is a great guy. Hope they catch the bastards that took them.

I hope he gets the back. Since they are flagged the only thing the thief can do is try and melt them down to sell them for their worth (which I REALLY hope doesn't happened)
I pray these get returned, Kevin is a great guy

Not necessarily an inside job. A decent burglar will know all the usual hiding places. The fact none of them have turned up on the collector's market indicates the thief didn't know what he had. Probably melted down for a fraction of their real value, unfortunately. Feel bad for Kevin. It's a conundrum. If you keep your stuff locked away, you can't enjoy it, so what's the use of having it? One of the hazards of life.
